Hand process part 675 (Patreon)

Hahahahhha u guys wanted hand process/tutorial, u know i will deliver!!!!!!!!! we still have a couple of days til this month ends so I’ll keep posting lmao

this one is probably my favorite!!

1. U know how I always start this! Simple shapes bruh

2. I separate the parts using random colors, because it’s easier to start that way instead of like starting with one color! especially when the fingers are close to each other!

3. Now, I added base colors and i also adjusted the size of the hand to match it more with the reference

4. Add some bright red tones 

5. Use dark color to add shadow to separate fingiez

6. Another layer of shadow, but not as dark as the base shadow. Just middle shadow u know what i mean. I used it to blend the palm part. 

7. First layer of highlight. More saturated than the base skin. I used it to blend the fingersssss.

8. More highlight. Used the lightest shade of the skin and made it a little yellowish so it’s not pure white! This will be the intense light that touches the skin!

9. Blended the palm area, I made it a little lighter too To match the reference

10. Blended the intense yellowish white to the skin and I also added a yellow orange to the palm and finger area!

11.  Cleaned the outline, erase tool if you have the hand and the black background in separate layers, or black paint if you merged it hehe

So this is just a Silly little version..  made it look traditional.. maybe

But here’s the finished painting!! Tada!!! 

Some quick tippy tips: 

Always consider your light source! If you have an intense light source, like on this ref pic, you need to add more bright red tones to your hand painting because hands become translucent with that much light! 

Always think 3D!! Unless you’re painting a stylized hands, fingers always have curves, round parts! 

Anddd don’t forget the skin variation! Add wrinkles, palm lines, discoloration, add other colors too, some other colors you can use are yellow, green, blue, violet!
