Content

1. just the background base colors.... color dropped!!

2. like how i start most paintings! i'll start with the simplest shape of the subject! sometimes i use random colors, other times i use the skin undertone

3. add the base skin colors, wrinkles, lines to separate the fingers/parts

4. first layer of the thumb! so... sometimes when the reference picture is kinda complicated, i like to paint part by part, in this case finger by finger then the palm then arm etc etc!

5. first layer of the next finger! red tones on the fingie tips! andddd the difference is very subtle, but each finger have like 3 sections right?! and they're separated by joints?!! one thing i do is i use 2 different shades for each section so the lighting difference is visible as opposed to using just one color on the whole finger, that would kinda make it looks flat as fuck!!!

6. now i just do the first layers of other fingers. same process!

7. then the first layer of palm area! don't forget to add palm lines and the folds! also!! palms are always lighter than the back of the hand

8. first layers of arms and the little peekaboo index finger right there. i didn't really went into details with how i paint these parts, i basically just blend the this first layer to the base layer i added at the start. if you're new here!! here's the post of how i blend

9. added nails! i always start the nail parts with a dark color, then i'll add the actual nail color but i'll leave some dark color around the nail which will serve as the outline... idk if that makes sense... maybe i'll just show it to u when i make a summary

10. now the 2nd layer.. again.. i wont get into too much details, but!! again!!! if you want to make it look traditional, make sure you lower your brush opacity so your brush strokes are always visible. As you add these layers, you'll see all the strokes which also gives texture to your painting!

11. i just picked the lightest shade of the base skin color and used it for highlights! also cleaned the outlines, erase tool.. andd adjusted the size, the thumb looks a bit bigger earlier.. and it actually still looks bigger now compared to the ref pic but whateverrrrrrrrr!! as long as you get the important parts, the feel, the emotion, the power..... it will look similar to ur ref pic!!!

12. so i just added more colors to the background.. then used gaussian blur.. added the fire... mole... and the shirt... that's it besties

here's the finished painting pretend u dont see the thumb
also another reason why i like using texture is it hides all the imperfections hahaha
