Layers! (Patreon)

HENLO MY BBS1!! 

Dropping by to show you guys how I do my layers! 

(I'm not this organized with my layers but I needed to group them so it's easier for you guys to see hehe)

1. So here's Portraits Group! Down at the bottom of all layers

2. Next, above it is the Objects Group! Most of the time I merge all of the objects layer into one layer so it's easier to DUPLICATE then alpha lock then fill layer with black to make SHADOWS, but in this case, it's all separate layers because the shadows are in different colors.

3. Group above is the textures! Just more shadows with dots and dust to add more paper like effects.

4. Then the topmost layer ALWAYS in my paintings is the Paper Group! 

Next example:

1. Bottom Group layers are the background and the portrait + objects group! Since this does not have as much objects as the other one, I merged all the objects into one layer, then as you can see under Layer 18 (objects layer) is also Layer 18 hahaha which is the shadow layer! 

2. Then the textures!

3. And all the papers! I always use multiple papers on my paintings! I love mixing the textures altogether, I sometimes adjust it, erase or lower the opacities of the papers so it's not overwhelming.

4. Andddd I also have this group layer down below here which is NOT visible. It's the COPY layer. When I paint objects or more than one portrait, I make sure I make a copy of the layer before I merge it all into one layer so I have like a back up just in case I screw up the merged layer.
