Siro Wight

I would like to know how to work with different kinds of paint. How to thin paint, what special liquids and how to use, etc. Also it’s very interesting to know how you choose paints for airbrush glazing

Henry Nguyen

I would love how to choose your color choices for a model and on a palette how you determines your colour, capibase and the colour for temperature control. I feel its very foundational to your overall painting process

Hi Sergio, First off - thanks a lot for the great academy content so far! I wrote quite a long list of topics in the last feedback post. I would imagine that you are best equipped to judge in what order to tackle the different topics and how to progress as a beginner painter. Something that would be fantastic would be to better understand how you approach a new mini, how you think about colour choices, lighting etc. This could also include your view on eg colour theory and direction of lighting choices, shadows etc. It could for example be that you show different ways of painting a mini and why you choose your specific way of doing it, why the light is coming from a certain direction, why you pick a certain combination of colours (and what other good options there could be), temperature control, saturation etc. Looking forward to the continuation of the series!

I'd like to see how to approach a miniature artistically. colour theory, lighting and generating visual interest

Agn

1. Choosing colors for a project 2. Leather (or textures in general) 3. Basing

Bret Smith

Sergio - many thanks for all you do. I would like to see how you approach multiple models, as frequently I am painting up small squads of models.

CLEMENT

The airbrush steps I can’t master yet

Alaisart

Gracias!!

Tomasz Banaszek

I would like to learn more about green ork skin and how to create dark nnm steel and how to add weathering to nnm.

Taylor Grant

A crash course on NMM, outlining shapes, light and reflections.

Clayton Kneip

I would love to learn about how to fix mistakes at different steps in the painting process. Fixing Mistakes, Covering Mistakes, Preventing Mistakes, all would be appreciated.

Antonio Lignan

Hi Sergio -- definitely more color theory, lighting, and airbrush control

Really looking forward to what’s in store for the academy. Once the basic techniques will be covered, are "from scratch" projects specific to the academy planned? Something smaller in scope than the wonders we already have access to, with the goal to apply the previously introduced techniques and actually finish some minis less experienced painters will be proud of?

Carlos Suarez Fernandez

Hello Sergio, First of all I'd like to say a big thank you to you and your team for all the work you've already done. Would it be possible to talk about : - volumetry - work on skins - one or two projects on busts of the living dead or vampires - washes and glazes Thank you in advance.

Ryan Pannell

As always, wonderful work Sergio. In addition to better airbrush control (like many others have asked for), I would love to focus on painting smaller 1/28 or 1/32 scale models at a high quality, but a little faster than you would for maximum detail. Not speed painting, but like someone else said, painting a squad (4-5) models in one afternoon for tabletop play.

Paint'Riot Studio

Quick NMM method for Copper,Gold,Steel for tabletop mini,weathering....just some ideas...after about that i found good your method with 3 to 5 layers by color, i use this painting of my boardgames mini.

remi-xvii

Everything haha. 1. Color mixing 2. Painting animals for example fur and eyes 3. What are the best paints? 4. When to use the airbrush vs when to use a brush

JIVAS

I want to learn how to make better and more efficient use of my airbrush when painting miniatures. Basecoating, Highlights, Filters and specially the airbrush blending between layers.

JD E

I specifically right now and looking to learn more about blending for everything, skin, NMM, & material.

Emmanuel

Color choices, what kind of gap between values according to the materials and lights. thx for your work

Ryan Miller

I see a lot of comments on how you choose what colors to use on a model. More specifically my first question/topic is when you have decided to paint something....XXX color. How do you break it down into the 4,5,6, etc different paints you need to mix together to make that color across the full highlight range. Like I want to make a brown leather strap but then knowing that english uniform, light brown, sunny skin tone, and greenish white will make a brown leather looking thing or that reddish grey and skin tone can be used to make a shiny metal. Painting wood of different kinds. Color recipes for different textures. OSL and similar effects. Like Trovarion does a lot. How to not make white and white adjacent paints look chalky.
