[Note: Apologies if the formatting looks crazy, Patreon's web browser formatting for posts and Patreon's Mobile app formatting for posts are not consistent and my attempts to clean it up for one just mess them up for the other.]Hey Everyone!
I hope May has been treating everybody well. I'm just getting over a flu/fever thing that's been kickin' my ass this last week, but finally feelin' well enough today to have some coffee and try to get a little mid-ish month update/preview written up.
I've been working on miniatures for the 5th Edition Monster Manual, Curse of Strahd, Spelljammer, and then a series I'm calling "Wildwood" (anthropomorphic animals in the vein of Redwall / Mouse Guard / Humblewood / etc).
If there's other settings or games you'd like to see me make miniatures for definitely let me know in the comments! I love to see what the community is interested in and it helps me prioritize what I put my time into working on.
5th Edition Monster's Manual
----------------------------
On the 5E Monster Manual front I'm finishing up the Barlgura from the batch of Fiend designs (previously finished Arcanaloth and Barbed Devil) that the Council voted on. If you have other 5E MM favorites you'd like to see me prioritize please let me know in the comments! Here's a preview of how the Barlgura is coming along,
And then I plan on working on this Cyclops Sentry just to get a Cyclops option in the miniature library,
I have had some calls for doing a Hezrou miniature which would be another fun Fiend to work on. Let me know if that is of interest to folks and I can try to prioritize it. And again if there's other 5E MM favorites you'd like to see please let me know in the comments!
Curse of Strahd----------------------------Previously Council members voted on a series of design for NPCs from the official 5e Curse of Strahd campaign. Their first choice was Van Richten, and since finishing him up I've been moving forward with the next most popular, Esmeralda.
Here's a work in progress preview of how Esmeralda is coming along,
Pidlwick II and Cyrus Belview are the remaining two from the previous round of Council voting.
Once I finish these I plan to do another round of sketches for 3-4 other important NPCs from Curse of Strahd. If you have particular ones you'd like me to prioritize please leave a note in the comments!
5th Edition Spelljammer----------------------------Spelljammer has been a popularly requested setting for miniatures so to that end I've been working on some designs for Giff and Auto Gnomes. The Council will be voting on which set and variants within the sets gets prioritized,
I also have an existing Plasmoid Bandit design, but I think I'd like to revisit it and give it the same variant treatment as the Giff and Auto Gnomes.
If there's other miniatures you'd like to see from Spelljammer please let me know in the comments!
Wildwood----------------------------Wildwood is what I've decided to call the series of anthropomorphic animals miniatures inspired by Redwall / Mouse Guard / etc. These Mousefolk were the first in this series and I've been working on some Weasel and Rat folk designs to add to the world.
Here's a preview of the Weasel and Rat folk designs that the Council will be voting on:
Weasels
Rats
Below is a quick comparison of the relative scale with Mice as "Small" and Rats as "Medium" both using the 25mm bases (essentially the same as a halfling and human in D&D), and then the Weasels will using a "Large" 50mm base (the same size as a D&D Troll).
Please let me know in the comments what other kinds of creatures you'd like to see me do next!
Logo Exploration----------------------------Not necessarily miniature related, but I figured I'd give peak behind the scenes as I once again play around with ideas and try to come up with a logo design for Printable Heroes.
I've never really had an iconic logo for Printable Heroes and every now and then I try my hand at designing something so you might notice me experimenting with a few different looks here and there to see if I can land on something. For the moment I'm liking the Printable Heroes with the sword for taggin' images, but I still need to try to come up with something that'll read well/work for profile/avatar/website icon images.
Okay, back to drawin' stuff.
Cheers,-Marshall
