'What the... what? Why the hell are my hands purple and...'
"FUCK!" I roared, giving in to my emotions, although it came out more like a high-pitched, cracking shriek that sent a chill down my own spine. I immediately clapped a hand over my mouth, staring in shock at the long black claws protruding from the tips of my purple fingers as if they belonged to someone else, while my eyes seemed glued to the tits now bulging in front of me, tightly squeezed by a tiny corset and the tight black cups of that same corset, which were clearly filled with something that should never have belonged to me.
"What the..." Chuck said uncertainly, turning his head toward me. "Jane, do you see this too?"
For several seconds, the room was so quiet that I could clearly hear my own ragged breathing.
Red-haired Jane, sitting by the wall, slowly shifted her gaze from my face to my raised hands, then even lower, and her eyes began widening more and more.
"Uh..." she finally managed. "Yeah... But... I don't understand anything yet..."
"AS IF I FUCKING UNDERSTAND ANYTHING!!!" I almost snapped, throwing up my hands, but immediately flinched when I felt something heavy and completely unfamiliar sway noticeably beneath the tightly laced corset. That ridiculous movement instantly silenced me, and I stared down again as if hoping it would all disappear on its own right now.
"Shh... Quiet, quiet, quiet, girl. Calm down and tell us who..."
"I'M NOT A GIRL!" I shouted so loudly that one of the people still sleeping by the far wall jerked sharply in his sleep and muttered something irritably, pulling a cloak over his head instead of a blanket.
"All right, all right," Chuck Morgan said, raising both hands first and carefully showing that he had no intention of coming any closer. "Not a girl. Fine. Then... explain what happened and who you are."
"Goddamn you, Chuck! I'm Mike, Mike Sullivan, we've been traveling to Sleepy Wrinkle together for almost four months!" I blurted out, pointing a clawed finger first at him, then at Jane. "You lost five silver to me two weeks ago after that fight with the swamp troll, and you, Jane, are still carrying a dried basilisk foot in your backpack because you're convinced it brings you luck!"
Chuck did not answer right away. He merely exchanged a glance with red-haired Jane, then slowly lowered himself onto the edge of his bedroll without taking his watchful eyes off me.
"Only... Mike knows that," she said quietly, nervously tucking a loose strand behind her ear. "No one else heard anything about the silver."
"Because this idiot made me swear I wouldn't tell anyone!" I snapped, throwing up my hands in irritation.
And immediately regretted it.
Something long and heavy suddenly swung behind me and struck the edge of the bedroll. I instinctively turned around and froze.
A thin purple tail with a dark tuft at the end slowly slid out from beneath the black and crimson outfit, and I realized that I was controlling it. 'Goddamn it. I'm controlling the fucking tail!'
"No..." I breathed, barely audibly, feeling everything inside me turn cold. "No, no, no, no. This isn't real. That wasn't there either..."
"Mike..." Chuck said in a completely different voice now, carefully rising to his feet. "If you really are Mike... then explain one thing to us."
He hesitated for a second, looking once again at my horns, claws, tail, and demonic outfit.
"Why does the system now show the name 'Myra, Half-Succubus' above you?"
"Myra?! Half-Succubus?! God, just kill me! I don't believe this..." The words spilled from my lips on their own as I desperately shook my head, feeling my long hair and my tits swaying, shifting my gaze from Chuck to Jane, then back to my own purple hands with their long claws and to this cleavage. "This is some kind of bug! It's just some idiotic bug from the update! I'll open the menu, message support, and they'll..."
I sharply waved my hand, summoning the interface with the familiar motion.
A translucent character window immediately flashed before my eyes
I breathed a sigh of relief.
"There! That's me. You'll see everything now. It's just some kind of spell or..."
My voice faded on its own.
In the very center of the window, where only yesterday the tall, level forty-two knight Mike Sullivan had stood proudly in full plate armor, a three-dimensional model of a slender half-succubus slowly rotated, with smooth purple skin, small black horns, long hair, and a thin tail lazily swaying from side to side. More than that, the vile model copied every one of my movements exactly. The moment I nervously moved my fingers, she raised the same clawed hands. The moment the tail twitched behind my back, the one on the model did exactly the same thing.
"No..." I whispered.
Slowly lowering my gaze, I saw the line that made everything inside me drop away.
Name: Myra
Race: Half-Succubus
Class: Knight
"Well, at least they left my class alone..." I gave a nervous chuckle, but the laugh immediately died. "I need to contact the fucking tech support!"
I immediately stood up and almost fell because that simple movement revealed that my new body had a completely different center of gravity. My feet slid awkwardly apart on the wooden floor, my hips swayed to the side on their own, and the long tail jerked reflexively as if trying to keep me from falling. I frantically grabbed the edge of the nearest table, nearly knocking someone's mug and the spread out maps onto the floor.
"Careful!" Chuck blurted out automatically, taking half a step forward.
"Don't come any closer!" I snapped, holding up a palm with long black claws in front of me. My voice sounded far too high again, making everything inside me tighten unpleasantly. "I... can do it myself."
I tried to take another step toward the window, planning to open the support menu while I walked, but my body moved nothing like I expected it to. My hips swayed smoothly on their own, the tail lazily traced an arc behind me, and the long hair slid over my shoulders. With every movement, my breasts shifted noticeably beneath the rigid corset, breaking my concentration more effectively than any pain could.
"Mike..." Jane said carefully, without taking her eyes off me. "Are you... are you doing that on purpose?"
"Doing what on purpose?" I said, hearing how my attempts to speak calmly changed the intonation of my voice into some strange, almost melodic softness that was starting to make even me shudder.
"All riiight. Tech Support," I began, almost with relief, forgetting her question as I reached toward the translucent icon with the blinking support symbol. "Okay... where are you... There! Character error report, urgent, critical... Come on..."
I confidently tapped the correct button with the unfamiliar long claw, and a new window flashed before my eyes.
Due to the release of the update, we are currently receiving a significantly higher than usual number of requests.
Average response time: 87 days of game time.
Thank you for your patience!
For several seconds, I simply stared at those numbers.
"Eighty... seven?" I repeated in a completely hollow voice, then sharply tapped the line again. "No, no, this is some kind of mistake. Recalculate."
And at the bottom, the words hung there mockingly:
Submit a request?
"Mike, listen, it says here that a global update came out today," Jane said uncertainly, shifting her gaze from me to the translucent window of her own interface. "Maybe... it's somehow connected? There's a whole list of changes here. New races, class balancing, a rework of... something. And also... bug fixes."
"Ooh, an update!" Veronica immediately perked up after watching in silence this whole time, and with one quick movement, she opened several translucent windows in front of herself at once. Her eyes darted eagerly over the lines. "I hope they fixed my sword and finally removed that stupid durability bug... Oh! New skill trees! Holy shit..."
"Veronica, this is not the time!" I practically groaned, unable to tear my eyes from the mocking message about the eighty-seven-day wait. "Someone stole my character!"
"Looks more like they replaced it than stole it," Chuck observed calmly, opening the latest news, then silently running his eyes over the lines for several seconds before slowly whistling. "They added this, apparently in a hurry and in tiny print: 'During migration, some characters may be temporarily assigned a model of a different type. If this occurs, please use this feedback form.'"
"What form?"
"I sent it to you."
"Yeah, I see it," I replied, already typing the request and sending the data to support.
'God, I think I'm starting to hate my voice. I hope this all ends quickly because if I really have to live in this body for almost a year of game time, I'll simply lose my mind.'
"Did it go through?" Chuck asked immediately.
I silently tapped the blinking confirmation button with my claw, and the following instantly appeared on the screen:
Myra, thank you for reporting this problem to us!
Your request number: #SR-847193
Estimated review time: 1 day (60 days of game time).
Please do not submit multiple requests regarding the same problem. This may increase processing time.
While your request is being processed, we recommend continuing to play as usual. Some temporarily assigned models may have access to unique racial traits and special story events. Take advantage of this unique opportunity!
Thank you for your understanding, and enjoy the game!
I silently stared at this mockery, feeling anger slowly begin to boil somewhere inside me. One day. Sixty days in there. And this was only the second day of the seven days of vacation I had plugged myself into this game for.
"Enjoy... the game?" I repeated in a hollow voice. "Have you people completely lost your fucking minds..."
...
Several hours later. The city of Wilhans. Main Street.
"Mike, come on, Mike! That's enough! Try to enjoy the... new content," Veronica laughed with a broad grin, barely holding back her laughter as she watched me sway these huge hips. "Just look at how many people are turning around to stare at you. Any succubus would thank you for a body like that."
"Fuck you," I muttered without raising my head.
"Maybe we really should call you Myra now, huh?" Frank immediately added, the fourth member of our team and apparently desperate not to let Veronica beat him in the number of jokes he made that day. "Because 'Mike' somehow... doesn't really fit anymore."
"Very funny," I replied without even raising my head, blushing, or purpling, fuck if I knew what to call it with this skin. "When they turn you into a warty goblin girl next week, I'll make sure to laugh too."
Veronica laughed loudly again, Chuck merely let out a heavy sigh, and Jane gave Frank a barely noticeable nudge with her elbow.
"Oh, come on," she said placatingly. "He's only joking."
I stubbornly stared at my feet, trying not to notice anything happening around me at all. But that proved impossible. Every time I took a step, my wide hips smoothly swayed on their own again, the tail lazily traced an arc behind me, and my long hair slid over my shoulders. The corset held my breasts tightly, but every movement still felt so distinct that I wanted to stop in the middle of the street and never take another step again.
Wilhans's morning streets were packed with players and NPCs after the update. Some were haggling at the stalls, some were arguing by the quest board, and some were hauling carts loaded with supplies. Yet whenever our group passed, the conversations around us fell silent for a moment. Eyes latched onto the tall girl with purple skin, small black horns, a thin tail, and revealing black and crimson half-succubus armor. Some people turned around in surprise, some followed me with curious eyes, and one bearded merchant even gave me a long, thoughtful look before quietly whistling.
And the worst part was that all of it filled me with some strange feeling that I could not even properly understand yet.
It flared more strongly whenever I noticed another interested gaze lingering on my figure a little longer than usual. At those moments, something completely new, alien, and irritating seemed to answer somewhere deep inside me, as though the body itself were trying to draw my attention specifically to those people. At the same time, a strange feeling that could not be called ordinary hunger had been aching unpleasantly in my stomach for several minutes now. My stomach was not cramping, my mouth was not dry, but a dull, aching emptiness was slowly growing inside me, so unfamiliar that at first I blamed it on the stress of the transformation.
"Hey, Myra," Frank finally said, deliberately emphasizing the new name, then nodded with a smirk toward a stall where two young players had stopped talking and were openly watching me pass. "I think you're advertising today's update better than the developers themselves."
"One more word and it'll be your knocked-out teeth doing the advertising," I snapped without even raising my head.
"Now that's the Mike I know," Chuck chuckled quietly. "Only now the threats sound... a little less convincing."
"Or more convincing in a different way!" Frank added, unable to resist the opportunity, then burst out laughing.
Veronica joined in his laughter without even trying to hide her smile.
"Oh, come on, Mike... or is it Myra after all," she drawled through her giggles. "You sounded so threatening just now, and then you did it again..." She gestured toward me without finishing because my next step completed the sentence for her.
I clenched my teeth in irritation. The cursed body was moving on its own again. My gait came out far too smooth, my hips swayed rhythmically, my tail curved lazily behind my back, and my long hair slid over the corset with every step. I honestly tried to walk the way I used to, with long, confident, masculine strides, but after a couple of steps, everything returned to this ridiculous way of moving that was far too... natural for a half-succubus.
"Stop laughing," I hissed through my teeth without raising my head. "I'm not even trying to walk like this."
"All right, enough jokes," Chuck interrupted everyone in a calm voice. "Let's go into the tavern. We need to eat before we hit the road and buy supplies."
'Eat?' The word made everything in my stomach twist into a knot, and I suddenly realized that the strange sensation that had tormented me all the way through the city had grown noticeably stronger. Only now it no longer felt anything like ordinary hunger. When I imagined a bowl of hot stew or a piece of fresh bread, nothing inside me responded. On the contrary, the emptiness seemed to contract irritably, as though my body expected something completely different, and that realization sent a chill down my spine.
"Hey, why did you go pa..." Frank stopped, smirking at his own slip before waving a hand. "Well... green... I mean, more purple. Whatever. You look like you're about to throw up."
"I don't know," I admitted reluctantly, automatically pressing my palm to my stomach. The long claws slid over the black and crimson corset, and the tail swayed restlessly behind my back.
Goosebumps ran over my skin as, driven by slight panic and anxiety, I summoned my character interface. The translucent window flashed before my eyes, and barely blinking, I immediately looked down to where I had seen the knight's ordinary stats that very morning.
"Hey, why did you freeze up?" Frank stopped smirking when he noticed the expression on my face. "Mike... what's there?"
I could barely hear him.
At the very bottom of the window, directly beneath the health bar, an icon I had never seen before was blinking. A dark purple drop slowly pulsed as though it were alive.
Racial Need: Life Force.
Status: Hungry.
The meter was already less than half full, and it continued to decrease very slowly but inexorably right before my eyes.
"What the..." I muttered, feeling as though the unpleasant emptiness in my stomach had instantly become more noticeable. It really was hunger. Just not the kind that could be dulled with a piece of bread or a bowl of stew.
I tapped the line with a claw, and a short tooltip immediately appeared.
Warning! Members of the half-succubus race need to replenish their life force regularly. Prolonged starvation may result in weakened stats, behavioral changes, and other physiological consequences.
"Changes to what..." I read aloud, feeling an unpleasant cold spread through me.
"What does it say?" Chuck asked without any trace of joking now, coming closer and trying to look into my interface window.
"Nothing!" I replied, immediately closing the menu even though they could not see it and could only see me, and, clenching my fists, strode toward the tavern, trying to ignore both the aching emptiness somewhere deep inside me and the dozens of eyes all around. I was equally bad at both. After only a few steps, the body began moving on its own again: my hips swayed smoothly, the tail curved rhythmically behind my back, my long hair slid over my shoulders, and with every step, the corset reminded me that my breasts had not gone anywhere and clearly had no intention of disappearing.
But that was the last thing on my mind. 'I just need to eat. Just eat normal food and make sure I don't need any other kind of "life force"! I made it all up after reading too much fantasy porn, something the developers definitely wouldn't have added to an adult game that I logged into for seven uninterrupted days and that includes sex and... FUCK!'
