TUTORIAL FOR THIS WEEK:  Portraits: Feminine and Masculine Faces

This week we are focusing on comparing the differences you need to know between sketching feminine and masculine faces.

At this stage I plan to sketch one each, side by side, so that I can easily compare the two as we go.

Let me know below the two you like by voting for two and commenting if you have any specific suggestions for what you'd like me to teach.

5 because of the shadow and 4 because of her hair. I’m a beginner so I’m working on the big values and shapes.

Yes, I also chose those because their faces have more character. Also they were the only ones over 30!! 🤣

4 and 8, there's something unusual in their proportions, it seems to me anyway, which might be tricky to reproduce without the subject just looking weird. 8 especially has interesting features, the eyes almost asiatic.

#2 male is the trifecta of a perfect subject: curly hair, glasses & a terrific smile (with teeth!!) #7 female has some excellent shadows. Describing her age will be a challenge.

I chose 3 because she has a wide smooth face - not much to work with - and I find those faces hard to draw.

I chose #3 and #6 because they are the most ordinary everyday type faces I see and would really love to be able to sketch them quickly and loosely but still know who they are.
