I love the colour palette on 2!

Kerstin

2, but all references are worth a sketch

Karen

#3 I’ve never been able to do a believable hay bale. Maybe this will help.

Sharon Foster

3 because representing middle ground (and foreground) trees is always a challenge for me. I either have too much detail or not enough.

Monica D Franks

Hey there! 😊 That’s a great question! As a beginner, I think either option would be challenging to pick up, especially since I’m still working on my measurements & line technique. But I feel like the first or third option might be a bit trickier for me. I’m having a hard time making grass look real… like, not just a blob of dark green watercolor that turns muddy when I keep adding shades. Haha🤣🤣. So, I’m not quite sure which one is the simplest. 🌿🎨

Bruce Jones

I like the one with water in it. I am often painting water in my paintings

Mr. M

#1 absolutely! Really need to learn/improve water!

Patricia

I like #2 best, I think. It has the tall grass in the foreground, water, mid ground grasses, and great shadows. And that sky. These are great choices.

Barbara

Number 1 cause it has a little bit of everything in it

PeiShin Chen

Love the 1st with water in the scene

Lou

They are all beautiful 🤩

Carmel Spencer

No 2 please, I find those multiple roof angles a real challenge. Thanks Scottie

Maureen West

No 2 because it is a challenge for me. I'll probably have to take a few tries at it.

Sally D

No 1 without a doubt, although they are all good

Froukje

1because of the water.

Melissa

I am liking the bends of the land on the 1st reference.

Colins sketching posts

3 please Scottie, So many interesting aspects, the for-ground tall grass, the middle ground with the barn and trees and that beautiful blue textured sky with all the storm clouds; having said that, I shall keep the reference I like em all !" )

Leslie

Number 1 please. As my husband the artist says, "Rocks are hard." He makes himself laugh every time. It's something his teacher used to say.

dave

Thanks for all the references....I do like to do the ones not chosen to practice on my own...

Judy

Number 1..
