Hi all, in this video I share how to sketch people quickly and accurately using a simple proportions method that will help you measure your figures as you sketch.

This is the full version of my Youtube video including all the figures I sketch in real time. Use the references and template provided in the previous post found here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/75401981

All the best!

Would you mind listing which watercolours you are using on each person, please? I know you have specific colours you use but I can't recall them.

Also, how much water to colour ratio do you use to get the light wash?

Ally Noormohamed

Ah, okay. I've bought some of the same supplies you use so I should be able to recreate it.

I’m really stumped with getting the head the right size in the first place. So my measuring is off. Please help. Thanks

Hey Scottie! I just came back to this tutorial as I'm working through the foundations, and it's great. The mix of looseness and details are perfect for the time I usually have to capture someone out in the world. If you're looking for ideas for tutorials, I'd love another video where you're working with this time frame (~3-5 minutes per sketch), as well as a bit of instruction on watercolor washes at this pace. Thanks for all you're doing!

Hallo Scottie, I love this Video , I like timed sketching very much, need a lot of practice to capture the gesture and the proportions. I will watch this Video again and again. Thank You!!
