How to sketch simple faces, step by step. Please find the proportion templates below to help you sketch along. I'll also include the portrait references that I used in the tutorial. 

I recommend trying this method using the 4 photo references below as a good practice exercise. Enjoy!

I like the “start Simple” approach you have shown. We can use this approach to move on to more “detailed” projects. From “stick men” to the “Mona Lisa”.

It would be helpful if you could outline the silhouettes in the reference photo because sometimes it's difficult to know which point you are referring in the photo.
