TUTORIAL FOR THIS WEEK: Loose People Sketching

This week is all about people sketching! I'm not quite sure how many people I'll sketch so please let me know which are your favourites by voting for any that you like (You can vote more than once).

I like reference 1 as a piece by itself but maybe the others should be a set of standing figures together (Umbrella figures inspired by Marianne's recent suggestion). Let me know!

WHAT'S COMING UP:

Week Starting 4th September: Urban Objects - Boats (Fishing trawler / Boats in a harbour)

Week Starting 11th September: Small heads (Practicing simple details when sketching small heads)

Week Starting 18th September: Urban Sketching

Remember to check out the tutorial index to easily navigate my tutorials here: https://www.sketchingscottie.com/patreon-index

Looking forward to hearing from you below!

It’s more interesting to see people coming towards me and to add some detail - too many drawings in the sketchbook of the backs of people - BTW is #5 a homage to Peter Max ?

#3

Really don’t mind but I think 1 will be a challenge for me with the bike. However I think a challenge will be good. Love a dog so they’ll get votes too 😊

Stephanie Wright

3 has a lot in it. It looks like fun. In #4 there is snow - I don't even want to think about snow yet. 6 would be my second choice.

Mary L Doty

I really like a lot about #3. It is really reflective of a city street scene which always seems harder to me to simplify. I also like #1 because the motor bike adds a lot of interest. You can really see why someone would want to draw that scene also. Thank you so much for asking why we are interested in one photo over another. I really appreciate any you would decide to explain as you draw.

Karen King

I lean toward 1 & 3 for the variety of shapes (people, animal, objects)

Fran

I like the poses in 1 and 4

Ally Noormohamed

I like to learn to draw 1 and 3 because they appear to be most complex (perspective, pose and environment).
