I haven't watched this one since probably the late 70's early 80's so of course I don't remember a lot about it now, lol. In fact, I would have bet you 100 bucks Jodie Foster was the girl playing the lead. My bad, and no disrespect to Tatum O'Neal 🫢 Anyway, I see it streaming free online, so maybe it's time to revisit :)

You said Amanda was older than her years. Tatum O'Neal (Amanda) is still the youngest actor to win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress at 10 yrs old. You need to watch Paper Moon! She won the Oscar for that movie.

The entire cast doesn't return for the sequel "Bad News Bears In Breaking Training", but it really good. Tanner, Kelly Leak (AKA) 2nd Freddy Krueger, Engelberg and others do return. I hope you put that on a sports or comedy sequel poll

Here is some sad trivia about this movie. The actor who played the coach that smacked his son is named Vic Morrow. Did you ever hear of the incident with the twilight zone movie where the guy was carrying two kids a crossed a pond in a World War II scene And the helicopter in the scene crashed, decapitating Vic Morrow and one of the children and crushed the other child. John Landis was sued over it and there was a big court case. The only other thing I saw Vic Morrow in was Cheech and Chong’s up in smoke. Very good movie. I did also watch the twilight zone movie, which is three separate stories and that one was the last in the movie. It was an OK movie. Very tragic.

Hi! Love your reactions and you’re one of the first I went to when I went on Patreon to watch. Anyway, regarding the pitcher That got hit by his dad and then would not throw the ball is Brandon Cruz. You’re about 20 years younger than me so I don’t know if the show aired on nickelodeon or kids shows channels that you watched. But there was in series in the 60s called the courtship of Eddie’s father. Eddie Play the kid that the dad in the show was a single dad to. And Brandon Cruz played the son. Very popular show when it was on network TV. I watched it as a youngster. Great great great opening theme song. One of the best.
