J, I consider it a mercy what they did with the animals. Yes it hurts, but all of them, every last animal and any offspring that they might have had would be filled with radiation and died from cancers, organ failure, starvation etc. All a more excruciating death. It hurts, but I'm glad they weren't made to suffer.

Also, you'll see in the next episode, but the AZ5 button that they pressed WAS the safe guard smh. But yea, you definitely need to have multiple failsafes, and we do now, but it's because of this event. This show is rough as hell, but HBO did their big one!

It's a hard series to watch for sure. However, it gives a great look into one of the worst disasters mankind ever has faced. Some say it's what broke the USSR.

This ep’s gonna fuck my boy up :(

As someone who served in the services and has suffered with PTSD I can only imagine how doing that job ruined the rest of that child's life. You know he didn't sleep right after that and you know he can't function right after that. He was a child being forced to kill; like you said innocent loving animals. That has to do something to the kids head I feel bad for him.

Could y'all make sure the time marker on your videos matches the time on HBO Max? If not, could you just give us occasional points we can sync to where we can actually see the video for just like 2 or 3 seconds maybe? It's really hard to sync with these full-length reactions cause you're counting the time differently than the actual time that HBO Max shows in the U.S.

I forgot how hard this episode was. There were a few times i looked away too. I have had pets my whole life including the two frenchies I have now, and I couldn't even imagine having that job. You might have to just shoot me. Things definitely were different back in the old Soviet Union. I hope things have changed some for the better. All those secrets, if told, might have saved so many lives. I love the topics HBO chooses to make series about. They give us a glimpse of a different time and a different place. Great reaction....on to episode 5.
