Yes! Was literally just thinking this morning how cool it would be if you were covering some Christmas slashers for Slasher Saturday :) You rule, J. Hope you liked the movie. Wasn't Jess' boyfriend a di*k, lol. I just watched this one for the first time myself this season.

I love this - can't beat a good Xmas classic, but sometimes? You can't beat a good Xmas horror!

Original Black Christmas and Scrooged in the same day?? Splooosh. Now unfortunately, I just have to wait a few hours to watch them, for optimal viewing. At least for Black Christmas. Scrooged can be watched in daylight.

The director of this one, Bob Clark, also made a far more wholesome Christmas movie, A Christmas Story. Have you seen that one?

Yea, Renee! Bob Clark made the best Christmas movies! He also made Karate Dog! Chevy Chase voices an uncanny-valley puppy, trained by (Chinese? Pat Morita), who is racist to cats and matrix dodges a kitchen sink to kick Jon Voight's balls. And MUCH more! (That wasn't a Mad Lib. Its an actual movie. Directed by Bob Clark.)

J! To answer a question you had at the end... How did Billy know what Peter said? You saw Billy's shadow behind the girls when they were on the phone, listening to them. You missed Billy's shadow behind Jess and Peter they were arguing in the house. And *ZERO* shade on not "figuring" out who the killer is. Billy isn't anyone. Billy is the unspeakable void who comes from nowhere and will burn the world without reason. And Billy is *very much* the inspiration for Michael Myers. Director Bob Clark told Carpenter in 1975 that the sequel he didn't want to make would be called Black Halloween, and...well...

Renee, can you think of *any* horror movie where the heroine's boy friend *isn't* a d***? I hate that cliche mostly because I think its lazy. The Sentinel (1977) is the only exception I know of. Drag Me To Hell too, I guess.

Damn, nice void line for billy. That was dark but very cool. Reminds me of Manus appearing in Dark Souls or something lol. l

The strangers? Not really a wiwi boyfriend in that one -- he did just get rejected after an ill-timed wedding proposal. They're getting reconciled and about to have cigarettes and ice cream before the bag man and co. start up.

So happy for this one. As I mentioned in a previous post , I have watched this one every Christmas Eve for over 30 years.(I am 54 btw. lol) So I am gonna wait to watch this reaction on Christmas Eve this year. But I wanted to say thanks , now to Blank , and J for this gift. One of my all time fave horror films , and a rare gem on all fronts.

Great info man. Have you ever had a chance to read the novelization ? There is some cool/fun extra things that were not in the film. Mostly extra character things. And a bit about Billy , but not much. It is a rare book , but I believe there is a pdf online if you do a search. (I collect novelizations . lol ) Oh , and I would LOVE to find a copy of the old lady poster in Clair's room. I remember seeing it in Spencer's Gifts when I was young.

In days long past, yes there were multiple ways to make your own phone number ring. The tracing thing is kinda hard to explain. The short, not exactly precise process: Basically when a call came in, someone would have to go around and manually see which switches the call were activating. They would find out what switch was being, well, switched and it's location, which they noted. They did this process for each digit, running around the room, constantly trying to see which switch is being switched, which gave the next digit. Etc. Etc. God bless modern technology.
