This is the update on the Gilgamesh series, luckily I only have 3 years left on the contract. I don't understand how it is my duty to promote my own book? I gave them free rein to edit however they like, they even changed the title, etc. What is a publisher like Moonquill for?

First of all: decline in viewers / sales etc is the reality for EVERY SERIES, be it YouTube videos, movie series, book series and so on. Of course the first Harry Potter book sold better than part 6. A natural or even immediate drop in numbers is always the case. That’s also why only after years of work being published you can confidently verify data and analyse it. Second: Don’t stop or reduce the series because of this. It’s your masterpiece in my opinion. It’s unique, gritty, dark, realistic as far as fantasy goes and unforgiving. Conclusion: Only self publish. You don’t need others.

Those publishers are clearly scammers

I have about 3 years left on the contract which I will just wait out, but on the other hand that gives me A LOT of time to finish Gilgamesh and polish it up

Moonquill, Jesus H. The whole point is that they push my stuff on the net, change things as necessary.. etc

It's good you only have some limited time stll on contract. Maybe you can re-start story on RR in a few years once you grow your audience, then republish it later on?

that is what i am thinking, also despite the disappointing numbers, it grossed about $35 USD, of which i got around $7000 ish, so they most certainly did not lose money on it
