Getting a TON of DMs and comments about the upcoming filler episodes 347-361. Seems to be about Kakashi backstory and some other characters. We want to do a poll. I know we have historically just skipped all fillers, but none has been requested of us more than this one, so we are def open to this exception if the majority of you all would like us to! So should we watch episodes 347-361 when we get to them??

I think if you do the fillers you should look into uploading them at a quicker pace. Like 4 episodes at a time or something so it doesn't throw off the usual uploads as much and get back to canon faster. I definitely think you will enjoy watching them for sure though.

Some of these fillers start adding BS that confuses people. They start adding their own lore backstories that make people say Kishimoto wrote plot holes when it was Studio Pierrot unnecessarily adding false things to character backstories

They should do it when the episodes comes up it's not that serious to take a small break from the main storyline. Maybe 3 episodes can be done at a time to quicken the pace, but they are must watch episodes. I don't see the appeal to come back later after everything that comes next in the story.

I respect polls I really do but if u watch the filler it will ruin your current watching experience. Not to spoil but the fillers have 0% to do with the war. They r flash back fillers completely unrelated to the current story. I understand a lot of people like filler and that’s cool but these fillers r the reason the war arc is so hated in the Naruto community cuz the filler was poorly time and poorly placed and had nothing to do with where the story was going. It completely ruined the momentum the story had built up and it’s y a majority of the community says the story should have ended with pain cuz the war arc was a mess.

If you're in contact with another reactor who has watched the fillers and main arcs, I would get with them. Ask what their thoughts are and if they regret the order they watched. Half your base is for and half against watching them (now) you're not going to please everyone, so make a good decision for your own watch experience. Saying that, I voted to watch later.

Let me preface this by saying, I understand that you have a schedule and i respect it. Whatever you guys decide I will support and appreciate you guys and I love yall's reactions to one my most beloved shows. 14 episodes means 3.5 weeks of filler. As much I want to keep watching canon and as someone who has watched Naruto and skipped those episodes my first watch through, those fillers are definitely what i consider a must watch as they do give you context and a deeper understanding of the characters. However, i would definitely recommend doing triple or (preferably) quadruple episode drops to get through it quickly as to avoid major loss of momentum. As a viewer, it's an easier pill to swallow to watch 2-2.5 weeks of filler versus 3-4 weeks.

Fillers are literally only made because the manga chapters are behind to be animated into the screen. HATE is a strong word use it wisely

The only backstory written by Masashi Kishimoto is related to Obito and Rin, that’s about it. 347-361 are made-up by Studio Pierrot and never happened in the story.

They haven’t watched any, why start now? Most of us want to see their reactions to canon and we HATED how long these fillers took us off the canon path. I do not care to relive that. We’re excited to see them react to the war content which is getting really good, not filler. It’s not as good as what we’re watching now. They can watch it on their own time if it’s interesting to them.

The story is cool, adds a lot to Kakashi as a person, on the other hand it brings almost nothing to the main story and it completely pauses the main plot for what, 3-4 weeks on patreon? I'm not saying not to watch it, it's just that even for filler standards is very very drawn out, i'd say not to watch it but in the end its up to you guys how you wanna experience the show. WATCH IT! You loved Jirayja / Pain / Konan backstories, and you will love this also!! Those who voted "no" are simply impation - yes the current arc is awesome sauce and it just keeps getting better, BUT that Kakashi arc is one of the best "filler" arcs there is. Definitely watch it! Don't do a reaction to it if you dont want to (but everyone would love it still), but definitely do NOT skip it!

Hmm, I'm on the fence since I didn't watch these fillers when they aired but I know what they're about. There are pros and cons to watching them but I do think watching them AFTER Naruto Shippuden is over is NOT optimal like some are suggesting. They are where they are for a reason because they could have scheduled them anywhere else but didn't. *EDIT* I was having a conflict in my head about this damn arc so I checked to see where they were and, ah, they're AFTER 343, which definitely makes them less pertinent. For some reason, I was thinking the contents of 343 were after this arc. 🤦🏾‍♀️

The answer is Both! It is really hard to decide. The fillers may give deeper perspective from other sides about important characters. But we are in middle of an intense battle anything except canon weakens the hype. Maybe 3rd option "watch off schedule".

It depends how much you like Kakashi. Do you know wanna know more about him or are you okay with your knowledge of him now? Fillers aren't always the best in most cases but for me personally like the fillers. Of course I was forced to watch them since I watched when the first came out but I didn't mind them.

At the end of the day it's going to be your choice and you won't be able to keep everyone happy. Seems to currently be split 50/50. Perhaps a middle ground - watch them all off camera and do a review video after the fact? Or record the reactions but don't waste time editing until after. This way you'll keep the impatient ones who want to get back to the main story happy, as well as those who want you to experience the character development before the show ends. What ever you decide, I think watching them for the first time after the show ends is the least impactful.

@Mason - In my opinion, it's not a bad idea but that would be super confusing for them. Imagine following two time lines at the same time while watching both... They have trouble remembering important information so imagine having two separate time periods to remember... If they watch Kakashi's arc, they should just watch it and then go back to the main story to focus on each timeline, separately. It would almost be like watching AOT and Before the Fall (the prequel) both at the same time... Or let's say Boruto and Naruto Shippuden at the same time... That'd be super confusing. I get what you mean though. I suggested them to have triple (or even quadruple) drops so that this mini arc finishes faster. For the the fillers. I would recommend you to watch 347 and 348 as they are released in schedule. Because 346 leads very well into the filler of 347 and 348. 347 and 348 is just a 2 episode filler that does not stop the momentum at all. Infact it adds into it. For the fillers from 349 to 361 you can watch it on a later date if you think it will stop the momentum. But you should definitely check it out. Because it is the filler about Michele's husbando. 347 and 348 is the akatsuki filler.

If I were to guess why people are voting no, it's because we're in the middle of the final arc. If this were a different scenario where we were finishing up a story arc, say the pain arc for example, I could see people saying yes as that would be the perfect time to take a break to check these episodes out; however, we are not dealing w/ that scenario. Abruptly stopping in the middle of the final half of the war (again, last arc) hurts the momentum and interest not just potentially for R & G, but the viewers as well. What R & G should do is ask us if they should come back to those episodes later after all is said and done. I'm sure fans would be receptive to that proposal.

I have 2 major points to make. 1- I feel most of the people voting no have never watched these episodes, a lot of them probably following an online filler guide and not knowing what it consistef of in the first place. This is not to slander these people, but if they don’t know what happens I’m not sure it’s fair to rule it out. 2- this idea that “filler is filler” isn’t necessarily true. The content of these episodes are mostly canon, the episodes themselves just don’t appear in the manga, but that doesn’t mean what happens in them isn’t canon. Most of the light novels have been branded as canon, but mangaka are on a strict schedule, so certain blanks are filled in. Other fillers have characters that don’t exist in the Naruto verse, while this one is mostly composed of very important characters in the verse. I just thought I’d bring this up

It's a light novel it is not portrayed in the original manga. The right time would've been 200 episodes ago when Kakashi backstory was covered. You failed to bring it up that's tough but there's an entire battle going on at that time right before major events in the war arc. Kakashi gaiden adds nothing to the story this deep in just facts 😂
