You wanna know something sad that they didn't show? Itachi had a girlfriend and she was an Uchiwa. Before he killed her, he put her in genjutsu that felt like an entire lifetime for her where they were able to die old together and have children. When it ended, she thank him and he stabed her. So fucking sad. Itachi is my favorite character ever.

What I love about this, is that Itachi told Sasuke "Aishiteru" which is very """formal""" and a not very-often-used form of "I love you". It's the kind of "I love you" that you only say to your most beloved, usually your spouse, or a mom to her child, and it's not something that Japanese people say every single day. It's a very emotional and deep way of saying "I love you". Add to that "Zutto" which means "all along, always" and you get how much Itachi loves and loved Sasuke. (If there's someone speaking Japanese, feel free to correct me please). It may be just me but I take Itachi's last line both as "I will always love you" but also as "I've always loved you" (because of the "Zutto") which emphazes the idea that all this time, Itachi has always loved Sasuke and has always worried about him. Also, the little hug. :'( Itachi will always be remembered as the kindest of them all. Naruto's mom told him "I love you" before she disappeared and now, Itachi told Sasuke "I love you" before he disappeared. That's beautiful.

lmaooo 1:10:03 michelle got u 😂 i noticed that too and ngl i do something kinda similar. also i'm not 100% sure behind the meaning of the triple drops bc tbf while i personally enjoyed these episodes a lot, they weren't INSANE in terms of content, but the izanagi/nami fight/lore is still pretty interesting, and obviously 339 is a top episode (at least imo). to me, i think the triple drops are more so for preventing soul shattering cliffhangers 💀 especially if we had to wait til next week but idk if it's THAT meticulously planned. always appreciate these triple drops whenever they happen! 339 never fails to make me cry bro such great moments

When Itachi says "Aishiteru", his last line of dialogue, it holds significant weight. It means Itachi loves Sasuke to the highest degree possible. Most married couples and family members don't say it to each other due to the impact it has. Itachi literally loves Sasuke to the utmost way.

This scene crushes me the most. Makes me cry real tears no matter how many times I watch. Seeing Itachi cry before he killed his parents broke me, just seeing it through his perspective is heartbreaking, and his parents just accepted their fate, imagine what he had to go through. No worries Ron and Michelle I'm crying with y'all too lol. Back in episode 298, Itachi quoted "A true shinobi does not set out to seek glory, they protect from the shadows, that is a mark of a true ninja." which was what Shisui told him. Itachi literally protected everyone from the shadows, no one knew it was him. He went out as a hero saving everyone by releasing the reanimation jutsu. I'm glad that Sasuke now has closure especially from hearing the truth from Itachi himself. This is why Itachi is my number one favorite character in Naruto. RIP again to the goat Itachi. 🐐 He truly deserved to be Hokage. Now you see Itachi lied to Sasuke saying he killed Shisui. Shisui committed suicide.

If they laid out all the “forbidden jutsu” then there wouldn’t be any surprises when they were brought up. And also it would take too much time. Don’t think too much of it. Forbidden jutsu is basically like laws. Like this jutsu is banned and there are like hundreds of them. Even Naruto’s shadow clone jutsu is a “forbidden jutsu” if you recall from episode 1 he had to steal that scroll containing forbidden jutsu and that’s how he learned it.

And THAT, guys, is why Itachi Uchiha is loved by many. He had his name dragged through the mud, his reputation tainted with no hope of redemption, his entire existence hated and scorned and trashed by the very Village he died to protect in more ways than one. He gave LITERALLY EVERYTHING for the village and his legacy will always be that of a mass murderer to everyone. He is the ultimate hero behind the scenes, even in death. One of the kindest characters to exist in anime. A TRUE G.O.A.T.! And this all happened because of the position he was born in and his GENIUS as a shinobi. He was the ONLY one who could have done what he did, and he carried out his mission as a true shinobi. Even in the akatsuki he still used to relay Information back to the Third hokage as a secret agent. This man still died being a proud leaf shinobi and did absolutely everything despite all that he went through to protect his younger brother. There is no other shinobi like Itachi Uchiha

What’s crazy is that Sasuke was only with his brother for a total of a little more than an hour after the massacre. Like 5 minutes at 12 where he was tortured, 30ish minutes when they fought and Itachi died, and like 30ish minutes this time. Over the course of 10ish years filled with hate for his brother only for the last couple of months or so for him to realize that his brother was forced into a horrible situation and never really deserved his hate. What a rollercoaster…

And that's why he is the GOAT!!! The loss of Itachi and Jiraiya are two of the most felt losses in the series. A lot of us can relate if we had a father or grandfather figure or even a brother. The show does a good job of putting you in Naruto and Sasuke's shoes while pulling emotions from your own life.

When you thought itachi's 1st death was tough then you get punched in the gut with his 2nd death. Really feels like a 1, 2 punch. Even though his 1st death was like over 100 episodes ago, still felt raw for this 2nd.

Everything he's ever done has been because he loves Sasuke and that is the last and most important truth for him so of course it's the last thing he ever says before this final death. ALSO, I've always loved that when he died he tapped Sasuke's forehead like he always used to because there were still lies between them and that action was synonymous with that. And now that he gives him the whole truth he can also embrace Sasuke, which is his final honest action.

Btw Ron, realistically speaking, it wouldnt make sense to show "all of the forbidden jutsus." Just as in the real world we are constantly coming up with new technology (i.e elon musk tesla, spaceX, Microsoft, Apple, etc.) it is also true in the shinobi world that people are always coming up with new jutsu (some of which carries risks or consequences that are too great, and thus end up being considered forbidden). They are not "forbidden" to begin with. They are only labeled as such, AFTER it has been tested, demonstrated, etc and the risk/consequences are known. So it's not something where we can say, "this is all of the possible forbidden jutsu." Jutsu is an art & technology in this world. It is constantly being developed, and new ones are constantly being created. Most of the world wouldn't know about one new forbidden jutsu that was created, until its power or uniqueness is demonstrated in a battlefield, and then ends up becoming famous and known throughout the world. This is just my opinion, but my guess is, people who have never fought Itachi or an Uchiha that knows how to use Izanagi or Izanami, probably have no idea that such jutsu even exist, let alone that they are forbidden. Same goes for Reanimation, etc.

Dude this line always hits me. It makes me think about just how much Itachi was already hurting at that point and how much it hurt him to actually kill then and keep on living that kind of lifestyle. I think he wanted to die to end his internal suffering while simultaneously helping sasuke to become strong enough to defeat anyone who comes after him. Maybe that is another reason he chose to make sasuke hate him in order to grow stronger to not only be able to protect himself but also that he wanted to die only by his hands. I think, in a way, that is his closure to atone for all he did, and also did NOT do in the case of sasuke
