Thanks for the drop. IIRC Vanessa's cat has only been shown to work on attacks so far in these episodes. So there was no danger to protect her from in this episode. Also it seems Vanessa was just being competitive. IIRC In one of the older interviews Tabata stated she see's Yami as an older brother.

I can see that. It definitely would improve the viewing experience when you’ve seen usual tropes they’re making fun of already. But I think it’s still a great starter romcom. Plenty of enjoyment to be gained even without the pleasure of watching others first.

You should totally watch Ranma 1/2 right now! They just remade the old Ranma 1/2 anime and now there is a 2024 version! It's rom-com. It is drawn by the same mangaka as Inuyasha that Michelle has watched and liked!!! Episode 1 just came out! :3
