Go watch the number of youtube videos titled "I finally watched One Piece" or "One Piece Hater watches One Piece" where all these people end up loving the Anime and it for sure did not take them 1000 episodes. I love all the shows you mentioned. I grew up on Naruto I had been watching it since 2005 when I was 11 and cried as a college student when the anime ended. It was my favorite Anime for a long time. But I also grew up on One Piece and it is my all time favorite today. Most One Piece fans also enjoy Naruto and other Anime we are just vocal about our love for OP but its hard not to be when you finally sit down and enjoy the journey.

I recommend you watch Totally Not Mark's One Piece Blind Reviews on YT. Watch the ones on the arcs you've already passed. You will find new appreciation for the world, story, and characters of One Piece. If you don't, then maybe it just isn't for you, like others have said. Also Mugiwara No Goofy's "One Piece is Hilarious" videos are peak comedy. You should watch those, they are also separated by arcs.

"I'll do what you can't do, and you do what I can't do!" this is one of my favorite lines from Sanji and is one of the underlying themes of the whole show. The Strawhats are a CREW. This journey is a TEAM effort. I wish more of the fanbase would understand that yes it's great to see everyone hold their own, but not all of the crew needs to be the BEST at fighting and combat. No one is worthless. Everyone has their specific role to play. Sanji WILL NEVER kick a woman, so Nami stepped in and whooped Kalifa's ass. Usopp is a coward but he doesn't need to be as physically strong as Luffy, Zoro, or Sanji to be useful. He is just as important!

Actually some of my favorite battles are Nami's fights because she's always the clear underdog and it's very nice to see her use her brain to come out the winner. And I still love her even though I know she can't go toe to toe with every enemy. Her nakama has her back, and she has their's

And just because you or others think one piece is great don't mean everyone else will. I asked what makes the show good and no one answered the question. The plot is very basic and doesn't deepen to hundreds of episodes in. There are no real hardships of the main characters unless its their past, which is a common anime trope. It's an okay show, a great show doesnt need 100 or 1000 episodes before you feel attached

To those that engaged in my comment as a new OP watcher, I'm already over 100 episodes into one piece, why would you think I'm raging/hating against one piece, I genuinely think it's an okay show. Just not a great one, maybe it'll change but i think a great show doesn't have to take 100 plus or 1000 episodes before it start to get good. That's why I said I think it's overrated.

@Zer0 I like naruto better than one piece, but to say that one piece is basic is insane. The story is really good, creative and very thought out, with some of the best moments in all off anime. Also the water 7 saga is up there with some of the best arcs in naruto, better then all the OG naruto arcs btw. And about the episodes. Yea we defenetly dont need 1000 eps, the pacing kinda ruins the experience. The anime could probably be like 500 or less eps no joke. Thats why we are getting a remake soon, and if its done right it will be better than naruto, because plot is just consistent better. Listen story wise (manga) One Piece is not Overrated, but anime is kinda overrated because of pacing and some bad animation. As of now i think naruto has better anime, but one piece has better manga. My opinion tho. Also comparing OP to demon slayer and jjk is insane. That is where you should say basic, some side characters in OP has more depth than all characters in jjk and ds. The whole plot is just them fighting. And if u only want fighting then dont watch one piece, its not a fighting anime. The fights is not why people watch or enjoy OP. Rage bait or not idc, hope this answered your questions.

One Piece is mid.Thosse are arcs that I haven't seen yet which kinda proves my point. I'm around episode 150 and the show only has SOME good episodes. You are mentioning arcs 100s of episodes away lol. It shouldn't take that long for a show to get good. At halfway to 200 episodes, the ONLY part of one piece that was good was arlong park. Yes, other episodes may be okay but most of the show is a slow build up that has the same themes recycled and reused so far. Yes, demon slayer is better and JJK. The storyline in one piece doesn't compare and probably won't become complex till like 2-300 episodes in.

Naruto kills lots of characters but the plot is lacking, the writer tried to make the villains as ‘cool’ as he could but forgot to give an actual motivation. Seriously some kid talks to them and they turn good lol. The girl you like dies and you know the reason but still the world has to be placed under genjutsu. Even a fool can tell he was being used by madara I watched both shows in my 20s and had no childhood attachment to any and still say OP is better. And demon slayer and jjk, early chatgpt can write the entire plot in one paragraph.

Yes OP has some stupid “villains” like wapol but if you truly watched OP and not just watched to compare to your beloved Naruto, you will realize the kind of world that OP has and why any antagonist and protagonist would do the things they do. My favorite “villain” from Naruto is Danzo and people might disagree but at least he has true motivations. Yes he had ulterior motives but has a good reason. He is a true antagonist not like some cool shallow villains

JJK and DS were very enjoyable if I don't think too much about it or decide to turn my brain off, especially DS so I don't have much to say about them lol. But Naruto is an anime I love like i do OP, but to me OP is a better story. I discussed a lot while watching OP and still realize new things about the story and characters and it is not just about plot twists. I am usually the one to point out what i think are plot holes in OP and for most and just need to look back on things i have forgotten

I think this sentence just perfectly describes the dynamic and friendship of the Straw Hats. Not everyone has to be as strong as Zoro, Luffy or Sanji, and not everyone has to be as smart as Robin or Nami. Each Straw Hat has a strength and things they are good at, and everyone helps each other out with their weaknesses 💪🏻 And come on Ron, Sanji is way cooler than Zenitsu. I mean, Sanji doesn't have to fall asleep or pass out to be badass! 😂😂

Ok, saying DS and JJK are better than One Piece is really just insane. It's quite obvious that One Piece cannot be compared to these two shows. So from all the stuff you've written so far, I can see that your problem with One Piece is just that you seem to be impatient as hell. If you just watched further than episode 200 or so, and especially paid attention and were concentrating not only during the fights, you would actually understand quite quickly why One Piece is so complex and so popular. It really seems to me like you're too spoiled by today's 12-episode-per-season anime. Anime that focuses heavily on action. One Piece isn't just about fights, it's mostly about the friendship and journey of the Straw Hats. I'm 21 and watched One Piece in its entirety last year. And that's why I can say that you can learn so much through One Piece and One Piece also brings a lot of good messages. Especially when it comes to socially critical topics. And if you say that the best thing you've seen so far was Arlong Park, that just proves that you probably only cared about the fight between Luffy and Arlong. I mean, there were so many emotional and good moments shown before that that just make you want to keep watching. Like Sanji's Goodbye to Zeff, Usopp overcoming his fears to help Kaya, or Zoro's fight against Mihawk (i.e. the meaning that this fight had for Zoro). And if you really just want fights and obviously ignore the emotional moments of One Piece (which actually define One Piece for the most part), then One Piece just isn't for you and you'd better stop watching because it's clearly not doing anything for you. And simply calling us One Piece Warriors just because our answers to your question contradicts your opinion is just childish and proves that you obviously just want to annoy and trigger "One Piece fans". Because apparently you already have a fixed opinion about One Piece. Or you're just a little snowflake who always feels immediately attacked... 🤷🏻‍♀

@zer0 This debate really comes down to personal preferences. If you value humor and character development more than plot (like I do), you’ll likely lean towards One Piece. It’s more about the characters and their journeys, whereas Naruto dives into its plot more directly, especially early on. Naruto often has a looming main villain in the shadows, with much of the story building towards a final showdown, even as it navigates through various side villains. In contrast, One Piece doesn’t follow a strictly linear storyline. While there will probably be a big bad eventually, it’s more open-ended, which I personally enjoy. That said, I’m a fan of both shows. I watched One Piece first, which might make me a bit biased, I already considered it the GOAT before watching Naruto. This is something that happens with the “Big 3” in general: the one you watch first often sets the standard in your mind. As for your experience with One Piece, you’re only 200 episodes in. Wondering “when it gets better” isn’t really the right question, it all depends on your preferences and what you enjoy in anime. My advice? Keep going. The arcs do get better, and while the pacing can be a hurdle, the episodes are already out, so just binge and enjoy. Over time, you’ll understand why so many people love it despite the daunting 1,000 episodes and occasional pacing issues.

it's not overrated, one piece is not a story about just 3-4 characters but about a whole damn world that's why it's long it needs a lot of build up, understanding, it's a journey. When you're caught up you won't say "oh that was so long" but "I need more", so stop complaining, just keep watching and pay attention to the storyline bc every arc you watch are linked

I think one piece is just much bigger and greater than anything you’re probably used to. It’s not just about one direct goal with fast pacing, edgy characters, and tons of flashy fights; there are vast places, characters and conflicts to carefully explore in this series and i think the length of it is arguably what makes it more exciting. The story gets deeper and darker as you go along, it ultimately is a journey that no other anime can replicate. Again maybe you’re just not used to it or it’s just not your cup of tea, that’s okay. Personally i fell in love with one piece within the first arc lol and it only got better from there.

@Tara, the writing feels like a childlike adventure with friends rather than high stakes with a thick plot, it takes away from the value of fights knowing luffy or crew aren't facing any 'real' dangers and that they beat every opponent with no development to their character. Over 100 episodes in and the first episode really is no different from the last episode i watched plot wise. I asked when does this show mature into a good series as it is taking quite a while for a so called "great"
