I also wanna comment to say, flashback to the leg on the barrel episode where they spoke about dreams. Usopp is the only crew member whose dream he achieves almost every day without realizing it. Usopp IS brave. He is a coward but he achieves his dream each and everytime he chooses to do something brave despite the fact. Him taking on Rob Lucci because his captain is down is proof of that

im a one piece fan since 2002/03 but enies lobby/water seven is one of the arcs that i didnt manage to watch due to my studies at that time.. so when i tried to binge all the arc that i didn't watch, it didn't hit me that much but im emotional enough to think this is a sad ending to merry.. and when i saw those edited clip of this scene with the famous music with one piece (i forgot the song), that clip hit me and everytime i saw reactions on this episode it reminded me of that clip and i cry a lot.. i think i didnt like the song in during the flashbacks to merry..

I think the death of a dress is more meaningful. Oda hates the character dying, so it's even more shocking when someone dies. And from my point of view every week, both the pacing of a onepiece and the filler episode of Naruto were the worst.

The choreography of Naruto fights are way ahead of one piece’s. The hand to hand combat with actual good realistic sound effects of naruto just hits different. Unlike one piece where its just repeated frames and the fight is dragged for 10 episodes lol. And ill say it once again. After wano arc, one piece fights are really good but naruto’s fights are on a different level

Congrats you guys, you have now entered peak one piece. Water 7 imo is the first best arc because of how much the crew went through, the luffy and usopp fight, merry being unfixable, robin leaving and needing to be saved, and the first time the crew had to face and almost impossible enemy to beat at their current potential. The feels, the emotions. It’s all here. Keep going it get better and better such is the journey.

Naruto has some of the craziest plot armor as well though and all the talk no jutsu where Naruto talks his way to winning. Also how Sasuke somehow levels up all the time out of nowhere and survives so many times he should be dead.. I hated how they let Sasuke get as fast as rock lee without the weights in like a month of training because hes a "genius"

Probably a rough take 😅 but I've watched over this reaction twice and it felt like to me it was more about trying to guess what was going which led to side tracking rather than trying to understand and getting that full immersion with what was going on with the loss. I don't know what it was, just the experience was different for some reason.

Deaths in One Piece stay forever and changes the world of One Piece,a lot of Naruto deaths is just to give emotional impact because Kishimoto doesn't know what to do with them after their arc is finished,that's why when he got to the War arc he realize he doesn't have enough characters to make a big war,and brought everybody back with that reianimation jutsu bullshit,for me takes the emotional impact of the deaths,what's the point of killing them if you gonna bring them back 1 more time,and lets not talk about that bullshit in the end of pain arc,everbody gets revived, the problem is not that people dont die,the problem is that Oda will write this emotional sacrifice to make us feel sad and that characther is about to die just to after that he doesnt kill the characther

100% agree about the deaths and fight scenes. The fight scenes are on the anime, but the whole “milk the emotional payoff of a character dying but still keep the character” is all Oda and is his greatest weakness as a writer, in my opinion. As far as pacing goes, the first third of One Piece compared to the first third of Naruto, Naruto’s pacing is waaaay worse. But, I hear you for later on.

@Slayer Slays I actually didn’t think so either, but I started watching both at the same time with another channel, and it was brutal, man. All five of the reactors thought so too, and two of them already had Naruto as their goat. Early Naruto is really rough compared to One Piece.

i find it funny how they are still trying to use Logic to understand things in this show. The merry got there when they both know that franky told them about a fairy that comes to life if a ship is treated with great care and love i thought they would pick up on that. This reaction feels more like a guessing game than a reaction tbh like im all for inputs here and there but making a guess every 5 secs kinda ruins the whole experience but then again im just a dude watching someones personal experience who am i to judge.

That’s how I first reacted to it. I just analyzed it. I rewatched it after 10 years and cried forreal. I understood the weight of this scene way more. Watching stuff back it’s usually way more emotional for me for some reason.
