No this (495) was storyboarded directed and solo key animated by the series director Masahiko Murata. This is fantastic Kanada-school animation. There is no problem with budget or staff or deadlines. This section (last arc) of Shippuden looks and moves GREAT.

I'm pretty sure episode 495 is patterned after the Rock Lee spinoff anime. It's actually animated pretty well with chaotic artwork, just like the spinoff 😂 It doesn't make any sense if you never watched it before lol. Pretty sure that's the only episode like that.

Just a piece of information, guys. I don't know who told you that but, these eps are not manga canon, they're anime canon. all of those eps about Naruto and Hinata's wedding were exclusively created for the anime; there is no such thing in the manga. Edit: Sorry, I just realized that those eps are, In fact, manga canon. They're based on a series of novels illustrated by Kishimoto himself. Again, I apologize for the inconvenient. Just ignore the comment above, please.

It doesn't have the same gags and tropes as the Rock Lee's spinoff anime. Plus the artwork is wayyy better in the spinoff. But yeah the author might have been inspired by Team Guy's dynamics in that anime.

2026-09-06 19:00 There really is no such thing as anime canon. It is either in the manga or not. The term anime canon is just made up from the studios, so that they get more viewers for their filler episodes. Most of the time the Mangaka (in this case Kishimoto) doesn't know or care about the "Anime Canon" episodes, so they never use or consider them in their storys, which in future manga chapters complete contradiction to the "anime canon episodes" are born.

I agree and disagree while what your saying is true for some but not all take bleach for example in the last arc they added extended scenes and fight scenes which are anime cannon and approved by Tite kubo but you won't find it in the manga

If only they had knew that it was filler, they would have just been laid back way more and don't take things to literally. Can someone please tell them lmao. when these episodes first came out it really symbolized an end of an era cuz during this time they started doing promos for boruto and i believed the movie came out like a week after the last episode of Naruto release so all these funny wholesome episodes were like a way of saying naruto's generation comes to an end and promoting boruto films more

None of this is manga canon lol the Sasuke Shikamaru and wedding stuff is novel canon. Manga ends at the final fight with an extra chapter. That extra chapter had Boruto in it but they never adapted it for Shippuden
