When the 3 classes of menos, the gillian, adjuchas, and vasto lordes lose their mask and become arrancar there's basically no way to tell what class they were previously besides how human they look but even that wouldn't tell you too much. When Aizen says the 20 brothers thing we have no idea how many of them are vasto lordes.

By capture he means track their energy and location. That’s why at the very end after they had tracked them all, he said “have you captured them all?” Maybe capture would not have been the best translation, but it didn’t actually mean capture them. It meant “track down their location and then kill them”

Chad and orihime have always had spiritual pressure. That’s why they have powers in the first place. This was explained back when they first got their powers. Besides Uryu when ichigo got his spiritual powers from Rukia that’s when all his friends in close proximity to him “awakened” their spiritual pressure. It was basically just lying dormant in them. Chad and orihime just have more spiritual pressure than the friends at his school and also something is motivating their powers but idk if that’s been stated yet. Yall are forgetting basic stuff that we’ve already learned about and looking in too deep to other stuff. Like the part when ichigo’s dad ran to the poster of Ichigo’s mother on the wall. Not all of the Arrancar are Vasto Lordes, but the strongest ones are. Some Arrancar you just seen are Adjuchas. They won’t say which is which but you can assume (when you see them in action) which are the Vasto Lordes.

Just as clarification and giving notes. - Arrancars are hollows who removes their masks to gain Shinigami powers. - Not many fully developed Arrancars were NATURALLY available until Aizen used the Hogyoku to enhance this process. - Menos are a higher class of Hollows than your average Hollows. - There are 3 tiers of Menos. - Weakest to Strongest also most abundant to rarest, Gillian - Adjuchas - Vasto Lordes. The reason Toshiro mentions about gathering 10 Vasto lordes is to point out how powerful they are and how very very rare they are in existence. When Aizen mentions 20 "brothers" he just means arrancar and at this point we don't really have too much clue on who is actually a Vasto Lordes who became an Arrancar. The 20 is just his Arrancar force I believe we can infer at this moment.

[Tidbits] - In regards to the Hollow system. Menos have 3 separate natural states of being Gillian being the 1st, Adjucha being the 2nd, Vasto lorde being the 3rd. the phrase "Arrancar" is made for ANY Menos that's been evolved through Aizen. So a Gillian or an Adjucha can be turned into an Arrancar and appear Human-like but they are not Vasto Lorde. At the end we see that aizen has 20 Arrancar, we do not yet know if all 20 Arrancar were Vasto Lorde class before meeting with Aizen, which going by what Toshiro said it's unlikely because naturally occurring Vasto Lorde are rare. - Many fans misunderstand Orihime's conflict here often assuming it's simply about romance, but the primary conflict is that this is yet another event that adds on to her feeling inadequate. Normally, people have parents or family to help them, but Orihime's family has been dead for quite some time, so she's often alone, making those feelings come to a boil.

Only a few of the Arrancar used to Vasto Lordes. So there’s 3 stages. Gillian (the weakest) Adjuchas (much stronger stronger, most of the Arrancars consist of previous Adjuchas) Vasto Lorde (these are the big guns. Theres a few in the arrancar ranks, I won’t say how much exactly yet). Aizen found these high level Adjuchas and Vasto Lordes in the hollow world, and used the Hogyoku to humanize them and turn them into more humanoid looking beings with sword, which are: ARRANCAR. Hope that clears it up more, because this gets confusing.

Basically, people with strong spiritual pressure can see Hollows, ghosts and Soul Reapers. This is what happens to Tatsuki and Keigo. And why it's awakening only now? It's because of Ichigo's power, the more it grows, the more his power influenced his spiritual pressure's friends. It's the same for Chad and Inoue, except that contrary to Tatsuki and Keigo, their spiritual pressure are much stronger AND they have trained.

One of the reasons most people struggle when trying to help with the pronunciation of "Ulquiorra" is that we forget that in Japanese, the "L" is pronounced as an "R" — so in the anime, the name comes out as "U-ru-ki-o-ra", which is why it's hard to match how fans say the name with how it actually sounds in the show. So Aizen making all the Hollows into arrancar makes them human-like so you would assume they are all Vasto Lordes BUT that’s not the case. The only true way to know their classification is to see their form before they evolved into arrancar. The anime never truly explains this well but basically all the arrancar you see are a mixture of Gillian, Adjuchas, and Vasto Lordes.

from my understanding, the human friends of ichigo started gaining spiritual energy, enough to be seen and have a presence, once Ichigo first became a soul reaper and was still hanging out with them. Ichigos spiritual energy is so great its constantly leaking out, affecting those around him. For Chad and orihime, they've already had spritual energy, but it becomes greater around ichigo

Mental state is a big thing in Bleach. It directly affects your spiritual pressure. Remember what Urahara taught us about resolve? Without it, your blade becomes dull, which means your spiritual pressure is not sharpened. That's why Ichigo had trouble dealing with a simple hollow. 15:34 The name Ichigo also means 15, that's why there's the number 15 on his door. It's cute. 20:48 Another translation mistake. Someone already mentioned it before in another episode, how in Japanese, lieutenants are translated as assistant captains. Here, it says "Vasto Lorde are stronger than captain-level soul reapers". That includes lieutenants, too. 35:12 There's a pattern appearing if you look a little closer. We have already been told that Ichigo's spiritual pressure was the reason for the awakening of Chad's and Orihime's powers. We also know that captain-class soul reapers are restricted when they come to the human world so that their powers do not affect humans. Now imagine Ichigo's powers; surely they affect those around him, considering Ichigo isn't good at controlling his spiritual pressure. Especially those people he spends time with. That would explain why his friends started seeing hollows as well. 38:02 Words cannot express how much I love conflicting human emotions in anime. It really adds depth to your characters. I love how Orihime envies Rukia for what she is, but completely ignores her own worth as well. It shows how she has some ways to go before completing her character arc. I know you guys were lost in Rangiku's sauce, lol, but the nakedness of the scene has some meaning to it as well. After all, Inoue is putting her bare emotions to Rangiku, and the latter is being a motherly figure to her, who has not had anyone in her life to help her deal with emotions. Her father was a drunk, her mother was a pro*titute, and both of them were abusive. Her brother took her away and ran from their house, but she lost her brother as well at a young age. I can't imagine someone growing up like that who happens not to be without complexities. This is another reason I hate the anime; this information was given to us very early in the manga, but the anime completely omits it and hence ruins characterisation. 46:49 I'm a bit sad that you said that, Michelle. Cuz Tite Kubo made sure to stand out with the training aspects of his manga. Bleach does not give that much importance to physical training; rather, it is mental training that has priority.

So, "ichi" means 1 and "go" means 5, which is why "15" is on the door of Ichigo's room. Both Kubo (Bleach's mangaka) and Oda (One Piece's mangaka) like to play with words/names and numbers. Luffy's gomu gomu no mi follows that pattern as "go" means 5 and "mu" means 6.
