The the first thing I think about is why one of the two people who were resurrected is naked while the other isn’t? Of course, you could say that Avdol wasn’t truly dead and only his sister is a resurrected as a clay figure. But the problem is, if a resurrected clay figure is always created naked by default, then when Avdol appears, shouldn’t this villain immediately realize that the resurrected clay figure wasn’t created by him? Why is he surprised? Can someone explain this to me?

Because when Avdol shows up as a surprise, they need the fake one to look like the real one. And theres no reason for the real avdol to be naked

Your logic doesn’t hold, because for the villain, whether someone is naked doesn’t affect its judgment. Otherwise, by the same logic, why would the sister be naked? Are you going to tell me that the villain who killed the sister, when sharing information about the main characters, specifically mentioned that at the moment he killed her, she had just been raped, or that he stripped her before killing her? There’s no reason for Avdol to be naked based on what you said, and likewise, there’s no reason for the sister to be naked either.

I think Victor might be onto something with his first theory. Now that I think about it, Polnareff did say something about J. Giel/Centerfold "defiling" his sister before she died. I'm guessing he raped her. That would explain why she shows up naked.

@Victor The point you mentioned is very good. I did some research, and here are some possible reasons: Judgement’s Default Assumptions and Psychological Blind Spots Judgement’s ability is based on psychological manipulation and sensing wishes or pain to create clay figures. It assumes that “any person who appears is a clay figure created by itself,” especially in the context of the story at that time. So when the real Avdol appears, it initially still thinks he is a clay figure it created, because in its mindset, anyone appearing should fit this pattern. Its “surprise” is not really about whether he is clothed or not, but rather because this breaks one of its core assumptions: it does not expect a dead person to appear in person. Judgement’s Psychological Manipulation Judgement can manipulate the target’s mind, using their pain and guilt to create clay figures. Sherry’s nudity may be intended to deepen Polnareff’s pain and guilt, making him easier to manipulate.

You just have to enjoy this part for what it is and that's why it's a lot of people's favorite.I agree it can be reapatitive but because it is so long u have a very stong bond with the main cast and that will make the finale worth a lot more, trust.

I get where you're coming from. But I think if you enjoy the goofiness, then it's a fun watch. The pay off is worth it even if you don't enjoy the long ride as much as some people. I like the fact that this show just does whatever the fuck it wants without trying too hard to make sense.

It definitely gets repetitive for a bit, but the character development along the way is so good. It’s majority of people’s favourite part because the payoff at the end is so good.

Part 5 has the best story progression imo

When I look back on Part 3, what stands out to me is that by the end, you feel like you were on this long journey with the guys, and you get to know their characters well. Some episodes in the moment can feel like they aren't serving an immediate purpose, but at the same time, it would be hard for me to say to cut this or that out, because I feel like it all plays a part in the bigger picture with the payoffs you get.

part 4 and 5 and 6 are so much better then this

The plot in part 3 doesn't progress a lot in the middle but instead the characters go through this journey of fighting different stands and going to new places. It might seem repetitive for now but when part 3 ends, you will feel more connected to the characters because of this long journey. That is why personally part 3 is my favourite but every part after part 3 is on the same level as part 3, except that the story progresses more.

Part 3 is a little bit "Monster of the Week", I agree. Just enjoy the journey :)

once you reach egypt it gets A LOT better, you’re only 2 episodes away

I have weird feelings towards part 3, as it is super linear in plot progression and has a lot of stuff like you said in the middle that doesn't really progress stuff. But the final stretch is really good and when the journey is over, it really feels like a long journey with your friends comes to closure. Having said that, I feel like part 3 is my second least favorite after part 1 due to how slow some things proceed, but part 4 onwards really fixed that issue for me. Another factor is the anime kinda screws up the pacing, as part 3 is the third shortest manga story but it's the longest in the anime. Part 4 onwards are longer in manga but are compressed to 39 episodes so the pacing is better, along with the fact that the story has more turns and twists. Part 3 has some encounters that could be resolved quickly but are spread into 2 episodes. Also part 3 is just the introduction of stands so some of them are pretty basic. The beauty of JoJo's is that there isn't really a power system where you train to get stronger and level up, but people have unique abilities and the fights are about coming up with strategies how to use what ability you have to defeat the opponent, rather than the usual shonen train to get stronger

Part 3 is about the characters, not really about plot progress. It is not a bit episodic, it is completely episodic. I also did not like at first but once I changed my expectations I loved this part.

part 3 dragged soooo long for me the first watch. It gets better w every rewatch tho. It's exactly what you said - enjoyed it but a bit surprised at how episodic it was. watched it again embracing that and just focusing on enjoying the wacky journey and it was soo much better. the last like 11 episodes are when araki and the anime studio suddenly locks in tho, it's almost shocking.

Jay rellim

part 4 best part!!! (anime wise)

ffp

this episode is genius cuz you feel like you're polnareff goin thru all of this. you feel exactly like polpol by the end of the episode . WHY DIDN'T YOU GUYS MENTIONED THAT AVDOL WAS ALIVE ? I'M SO OFFENDED Araki is a really good writer

bluehef

i’m glad avdol is alive i missed his character

Hardcase

I don’t know where you got this info from, but it’s a bit inaccurate. When he wrote part 3 he was working for Shonen Jump, now he works for Ultra Jump, he isn’t independent. Part 3’s weekly schedule is the same schedule he had for part 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and the start of 7. The villain of the week stuff wasn’t forced upon him as it was incredibly successful at the time, part 3 remains the most popular part. The pacing issues are more of an anime issue, with the adaptation lengthening fights and adding more scenes more scenes between the crusaders. In terms of manga length part 3 is the third shortest, only beating out parts 1 and 2

Thanks for the comment. I saw it in a YouTube video a while back. I’m gonna delete the first comment so I don’t spread misinformation
