the actual content and characters are going to be great but the animation is going to be rough (art direction looks on point though). So sad this had potential to be solo level season two type hype. Hopefully animation gets better! still should be fun and hype!

the marketing from this season is bad but honestly i believe this season is going to pop off the animation was the biggest complaint about season 2 but if u enjoyed season 2 i believe you guys will not mind this season because people are expecting movie tier season but i believe it will peak

my honest thoughts on this season is that people hate it because it isnt season 1 and season one had top tier animation but this anime deserves a lot more they had so much time, but im pretty sure they barely started animating it like 2 years or 1 year ago when they had 7 years and i wouldnt honestly mind waiting 1 more year just to get a better schedule on things but the animation i hope is enjoyable for the next upcoming fights this episode was nothing special the compositing is like blue lock but it looks neat but theres just isnt much to it, but overall i dont mind it ill make my complaints when the fights are chopped down

I dont understand why people are glazing so much this episode. It is really horrible what they did to top 20 most popular shonen anime. They had so much time, it is by far the most popular anime that JC staff are animating, I dont understand why it was made in such a way.

I don't see how anyone is judging animation based on this episode. It's just setup. There was nothing to animate! The art is fine from what I can tell but we won't really see how the animation is until we get action. It was literally just this in the manga. Honestly, this whole episode was like 60~70 pages in the manga and was all the characters getting their bearings after the previous squabble; nothing different at all. I'd also like to add that the season 1 outro was a cute pop song coupled with just pretty still shots of the city (with minimal movement like rain). It's literally the same! 😭

They had 6 years i asume. Sooo I mean yea world building is nice but most slice of life as better movement animation tbh. Literal PNG lip flap. For an action anime it shoulda had atleast one sort of action 😅 ill apologize if they troll us and next episode is a banger.

I can’t lie .. the amount of ppl I’ve seen down one punch man strictly off of animation dropping in quality is a little crazy… so do we only like anime with good animation ? Is the animation all that matters ? Bcuz a lot of us watch the same isekais stories they drop every season and those are usually literally slide shows … but they’re enjoyable 🤷🏾‍♂️

I mean you guys are watching Boruto so I’m sure the bar is low anime wise lol. I’m gonna keep watching, but I also watch a lot of Isekai trash anime so this being trash doesn’t faze me one bit. If we get cool animation then that’s cool, but it’s never gonna be better than s1 because all those animators moved on to do better things, and JC Staff is JC Staff.

I mean… the only thing anime really adds to a manga is the animation (and soundtracks). If that part’s trash, there’s not much point watching it, especially when the manga panels already look flawless. But hey, that’s just me! If you’re enjoying it as it is, good for you !

I feel u but Let’s be honest .. the average anime watcher isn’t reading the manga …. So all we have is the anime … so we don’t know the difference until ppl come online and start complaining .. 🤷🏾‍♂️.. and I say that having watched hundreds of anime over the span of like 25 years and having read only 2 manga 😂… maybe I’m the exception but I don’t really be understanding …but I get what you’re saying tho

One Punch Man season 1 was my first anime i ever watched back in 2016, its disappoint how bored I got watching this episode hopefully it can get better, the show had such a huge impact in the industry i'm surprised it doesn't have much budget

So "Anime" is short for ANIMAtion, that's it, that is why we are watching an ANIMATED show cause for the story we can read a book (lightnovels), or the manga. We watch ANIME (ANIMATION) for the animation, so yes, the drop in quality IS a HUUUGE thing

One punch man has always seemed like a fun parody show that just happened to have some elite up and coming animators using the initial seasons as a way to display how far can they visually push fight scenes.

I don't get the hate and I don't see anything wrong with the animation. I wasn't too impressed with this episode but toward the end it got my attention but it's just the first episode so they are setting things up I'm sure. It's been so long since season 2 ended so looking forward to season 3

Saw more movement from Michelle and Ron😂. Hope they still enjoy it and have great reactions and memories! For me this is like blue lock S2 (like Ron said) even if they do the last 2 episodes great it still won’t save it for me, sadly I watch anime for animation;(.

I'm with you. If I remember correctly, this arc has A LOT of fights and a lot of new characters. They could be saving for that. Also, this episode is only set up and dialogue, there's no reason for this episode to have mind-blowing animation.

Although several years have passed between Seasons 2 and 3 of One Punch Man, that doesn’t mean all that time was spent working on Season 3. In fact, it wasn’t until the end of 2022 that it was officially announced that animation studio J.C. Staff would be handling the project. Since One Punch Man isn’t their only anime in production, it had to be placed in a queue behind other commitments. They needed to complete those earlier projects before they could assign staff to begin work on Season 3. I do think they have placed budget on the fight scenes so hopefully we won’t be disappointed.

i can understand why anime onlys are judging this episode for what it is but if you actually read the manga you'd know that theres like a 90% chance they're saving the animation for later episodes. besides, this WAS a set the tone type of episode so with the way the manga goes, it should be picking up
