Yo for anyone who saw a few months back I was on an Anime Podcast called the Baka Boys! (perfect name btw) lol They were just two dudes who I (ron) met at the gym, who I found out love anime. Well they invited me back on (episode dropping next friday! its such a good one)Anyways, we came up with the idea, that we all should read a manga together, and we will come together every 2 weeks, and film our discussions around it. (Like a book club) hahaI will post the discussions here on patreon.(This does not impact my One Piece manga journey. I am reading that and having weekly discussions regardless lol)Just want your guys help deciding what Book we should start off with.

I love Berserk, it will genuinely change your perspective on life. I just recommend you guys make sure you have some lighthearted and positive stuff ready afterwards because sometimes it can get a bit intense to say the least.

Hell Yes Ron! Start with Vagabond, you're already interested in the story, it's extremely grounded, it's beautiful etc etc. Berserk is fantastic too, but it's also a much tougher read. Also it isn't finished.

I see all the people voting berserk as trauma bonded to the story. No shame, I just think vagabond taught me much more than berserk. The peaks were higher. Both great options. If you do read berserk I recommend vagabond after. Love.

As someone who read Berserk and One Piece and someone who has been following your entire One Piece journey, I think Berserk has the potential to surpass One Piece for you

Both are amazing, but Berserk is one of the greatest works of fiction I have ever experienced. It's just so well written, and every single detail is important and means something, and it also has some of the greatest characters ever. Excited for the podcast.

Can’t go wrong with either but I think Berserk is a cool way to start stuff off especially if you’re going in blind. Vagabond is just as good but id actually recommend checking out Slam Dunk first if you can (earlier work from the same author). Without getting into it much, it’s a masterclass in pacing. Like the best paced manga I’ve ever read. And it’s also not super long. Plus, it’ll be cool to compare the two works.

Berserk is more grand scale with emotional trauma and an overarching villain while Vagabond is more down to earth with human antagonists that question the main characters philosophy i prefer vagabond but berserk prolly gonna win

I’ve always been a vagabond advocate on this Patreon Ron, it’s honestly the best philosophy self grown piece of media ever. I love berserk but it’s fantasy as in vagabond is grounded in reality and I relate to it more in my journey to searching purpose and the strength to carry on every single day! I recommend that one !
