Usher

miho

I like this episode the best in New World. I'm looking forward to your reaction.

Dasha

you are forgetting Jaguar D Saul, Portgas D Rouge, and Gol D Roger in your D list

Dasha

Confirmed "D" characters so far: Monkey D. Luffy Monkey D. Garp Monkey D. Dragon Gol D. Roger Portgas D. Rouge Portgas D. Ace Marshall D. Teach Jaguar D. Saul Trafalgar D. Waterlaw Just a quick refresher :)

Mando23

I really mess with corazon dudes a G

Usher

Ya'll forgot jaguar D saul(the giant from robin's backstory) And it destroys michelle's black hair theory since he's a ginger😂

Erik Matteus

here come the Law had a made up back-story comments 😂

Mr.popiah

Sengoku was an admiral at that time. Not fleet admiral

Delinger

46:32 deadass a reference to Joker blowing up the hospital in The Dark Knight 😂

YanuE X

you guys forgot Saul as one of your first encounter of "D"... the giant that helped robin...

Franknbeans

Yall are also forgetting Buggy D. Clown and Go D. Usopp in the 'D' list.

Ranzy Lizardo

GOLD D. ROGER Marchall D.TEACH AKA BLACKBEARD JAGUAR D. SAUL GIANT THAT SAVE ROBIN , PORTGAS D. ROUGE ace mother a lot more than five but its not a blood thing its a mystery middle name that no one knows alot about and doffy see himself as a celestial dragon still as a god but he just hates the others celestials so the D family definitely will ruin his plans and funny enough two Ds PAUSE are trying to stop him right now.

Dasha

"Trafalgar" and "Water Law" (pronounced phonetically almost identically to Waterloo in Japanese) are direct nods to the Napoleonic Wars. Both battles were devastating defeats for Napoleon, and the battle of Waterloo was Napoleon's last battle, after which he abdicated the French throne and surrendered to the British

Kyle Crozier

The celestial dragons saying that the people of D will "destroy the world," means that they are a threat to destroying the World Government and the corrupt world made by that government. (Direct opposition to the gods).

Milo

Jaguar D Saul

No Remorse

Marshall D Teach. Not Edward

Usher

Yooo never occured to me thats dope

Parmvir Dhugha

Don't forget Jaguar D Saul, Dereshishishi

Phyllis

Love the top and hat Michelle! Very matching for this 2 episodes! <3

Kayso

Water has a deeper meaning which isnt one piece related. Someone explained in comments. Never knew there was a meaning, I always thought Water was a cool middle name for Law, it adds a uniqueness to him and makes his character even better imo. Nah Ron its not accidental with the klutz thing. Corazon told Law its all an act when he set his jacket on fire so he's being a klutz on purpose. Corazon crying at the end for Law always tugs at the heartstrings. Love Law and Cora's relationship

SomeoneElse

"The darkness fading away!" NOOO... Lmao. It's his disease spreading/worsening, actually 😂

gdnsx

lool lets goo

Dadundudun

Love all the theorizing 🥰 it's very nostalgic lol

SomeoneElse

Law's backstory with Corazon is sooooo gooooooood!! There is a ton packed into this arc. Dressrosa is a favourite arc for some people but I think it genuinely gets so much better with every following arc ☀️

SomeoneElse

I'm no historian but I believe Law's name is a play on the Battle of Trafalgar. Oda pulls from MANY historical events. From Google: "The Battle of Trafalgar (October 21, 1805) and the Battle of Waterloo (June 18, 1815) were the two defining engagements of the Napoleonic Wars. Trafalgar crushed French naval ambitions, whereas Waterloo marked the final, permanent defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte." We also had Water-Luffy back in Alabasta, when he drank heaps of water. Just play-on-word things.

Bunie

This is one of my favorite backstories in One piece, Corazon has my heart 😭❤️❤️ He’s one of my favorite characters! i’m so not ready for tears though…

Kevin Depoppe

ron i dont know if you watched dragon ball super but corason's va is the same as beerus the god of destruction

Natthorn Rangseesakhon

Sengoku was an Admiral in that flashback, not Fleet Admiral yet. Fleet Admiral isn’t the highest position. Remember After Marineford when Sengoku was a fleet admiral and he submitted his resignation to Kong, the Commander-in-Chief of the World Government. That means Kong is higher in rank than the Fleet Admiral.

Gin

no they haven’t seen super they haven’t even seen any db series

MIRACHAN FF

Cora-san ! The tears you shed for me ! I won't ever forget

Cecil

Everyone forgot Go D. Ussop

Julio

The “D” clan is enemy to the celestial dragons. I think this was explained a while back.

KevUrb

Dressrossa would be an S tier arc for me but the pacing holds it back. My personal Mt Rushmore of One Piece Arcs would have to be Water 7/Enies Lobby; Marineford; Wano; Egghead…. if terms of the backstories, emotional moments, lore, action… these arcs have it all… sabody and the luffy ace sabo mini arc are honorable mentions for me. So to answer your question IMHO there are definitely better arca than Dressrosa

Luck64

yes, it gets even better =)

100Rainy

Doffy's dad really was a good dude but just too naive, he had a very idealistic view of humanity that didn't quite match up with reality and it cost him everything. Which actually connects back to their family's namesake "Donquixote", as you probably know it's in reference to the old famous Spanish novel "Don Quixote de la Mancha" from the 1600's. A tale that follows an elderly nobleman obsessed with stories of knights of the chivalrous era. He dons some armor himself and sets off on a personal crusade to revive chivalry in his era although things don't quite go his way. A story that ultimately revolves around the dichotomy between chasing idealistic fantasies; to the point of delusion vs the crushing cynical wall of reality. A prevalent exploration of themes that almost serves as the basis for the entire story of One Piece, especially within the Sky Island saga during Jaya. Luffy and Bellamy's exchanges in that arc may as well have been a direct reference to the moral messaging behind "Don Quixote". Doffy's father even somewhat resembles the titular "knight" himself, although the old bearded man Gan Fall from Skypiea is a much more overt reference to how the character Don Quixote is commonly depicted. Cora-san's real name, Rocinante, is also another clear reference. Rocinante was the name of Don Quixote's loyal yet frail/clumsy horse in the old spanish novel. True to his namesake, Cora-san fits that description pretty well (except for the horse part lol).

Ahhh I’d love to see a triple drop for the next one, I know you guys work hard already with the 6 eps a week but just makes sense for this backstory💔

Emmanuel Obeng

U guys are hilarious 😂😂😂😂

Maks Lesniewski

Fun fact: Rocinante is voiced by the same Japanese VA as Miguel from JJK, Silva Zoldyck from Hunter X Hunter, Isaac McDougal from FMAB, Gentle Criminal from MHA, Donald Duck, AND Stitch.

Gjermund Norum Bugge

Another character that has the D is the Giant that saved Robin in Ohara. Jaguar D. Saul

Joee 55

i imagine Otohime being the one that changed Dofy's father way of thinking, i honestly never confirmed that, but i believe it was more or less at the same time

john van sibi

IT'S ALREADY PEAK AND THERE'S STILL SEVERAL ARCS THAT IS IN THE SAME PEAKNESS OF THIS ONE ISTG

100Rainy

This flashback was 33 years ago from current day, and Otohime was 36 at the time of her death 10 years ago. Unless my math is off Otohime would've been at most 13 years old back then. We don't know her childhood ofc but I doubt she was casually meeting with CD's and strongly advocating for coexistence at that age. Especially since she wasn't even born royalty and had no major political pull until marrying Neptune. So unless in her youth Otohime stumbled upon the unlikeliest string of coincidences ever she had no plausible way of chatting with any significant political figure as just another regular citizen of Fishman Island, let alone a CD.

Soheil

the next drop must be tripple drop

Michelle Lam

yah i meant highest in postion with boots on the ground if you know what i mean.

Michelle Lam

oh yah, roger was assumed, but the other 2 we just forgot haha

Adam

The next drop should be a triple drop right?

Teeskii

Y’all forgot about my boyy Buggy D Clown🤦🏽‍♂️🤣jkjk

Skrillz

There is also another that we have met but i dont remember if it has been revealed yet or not, but we met them long ago.

Emmanuel Cordial

Doflamingo is one of One Piece’s best villains because he’s charismatic, ruthless, deeply broken, and powerful enough to shape the entire world from the shadows. If you haven’t yet, watch his English‑dub speech on YouTube — it’s chilling, and honestly feels way too real for the world we live in today.

Mario Garcia

Fleet admiral is the highest position in the marines. That's what they meant. Kong works for fhe world government not the marines. Yes in the world government there are higher positions then Fleet admiral. Wouldn't say there stronger than sengoku just fhat there are higher position

Dasha

yeah I wrote this comment before you mentioned Roger haha

Miguel Nobre

i just wanna say that scene of Doffy dad never happen in the manga,he never told them that he came from marijois and that he was a celestial dragon, they found out because of Doffy

Christina H.

Just a clarification about Blackbeard. It’s not because of his devil fruit that he can have 2 devil fruits. It was implied that he has a special body. Don’t remember if it was Marco or someone else but someone mentioned that his body was “atypical”

aJay

You think you’ve reached peak one piece…. And it just continues getting better and better

FLEX

Im a D probably lowkey

kidCash3

Might be me personally but I completely disagree with corazon and understand Doffy completely …

kidCash3

I don’t think doflamingo is even “evil” like Cora tryna portray him

Relaric

Fun Fact: Steve Burns (the first guy on Blue's Clues) turned out to be an amazing person, now hosts a podcast for adults for mental health, relationships, etc.

BBCSupremacy

Y'all need to be castrated like doflamingo's dad for thinking the white disease on the screen was "darkness coming to light". Smh lmao

BBCSupremacy

Bruh her predictions are crazy. Just let Ron react atp.

Arrow

35:34 thats a very good question Ron very good question.

asabatonlessarmour ?

The first time we see that those with D are the "sworn enemies of the Gods" is when Luffy faces Enel the self-proclaimed God. Luffy was naturally Enel's enemy

Michael H

Michelle swooping in like a ninja to take the credit on Ron’s theory of the D clan being enemies to the celestial dragons 😂 Her devil fruit would definitely be the Rewrite Rewrite no mi.

Edurlix

con D. oriano and Ask D. Question (the guy who asked roger where's the op)

theshittycook

Your hat looks like Kuma's to be honest LOL

TheSamoanSaiyan

Dressrosa and 2 arcs after this is my two fav arcs

Jam

I can finally catch up to where you guys are at on one piece. I’m caught up on yt and I couldn’t wait for the next upload 😭

Jana Liptáková

Oh Rosinante is such amazing character .. like takes such smal peace in the lore yet i have this backstory soo deeply in my heart his kindness was amazing..
