Could u guys please check out "Gate" and "Tsukimichi moonlit fantasy" or even "Ragna Crimson" next?

Spunkbutter

Dragon Ball is more light hearted from start to finish, although action picks up and it does get a little more “serious” as the plot progresses but it’s still a lighthearted fun adventure. Z is when the show takes a more serious approach but it still also maintains classic dragon ball humor at times

Chris Lennox

Yes this aired on Cartoon Network😂 the bath and cover scene was censored. When Yamcha looked in the window it was super blurry from steam and Yamcha screamed. and when he removed the cover the scene immediately went to him running down 😂😂😂

victoria t

Believe it or not, Oolong is only like 9 years old I think 😂😂

victoria t

Also, Goku isn’t like Luffy, Luffy is like Goku 😂😂 Goku is the OG!!

phoenixkaito

you'll notice lots of naruto/one piece chars are based off dragonball characters to an extent bulma - nami - sakura goku - luffy - naruto someone - sasuke - zoro roshi - jiraiya - sanji (not personality tbh just pervertedness) and more as you watch

Usher

Bulma's boobs when yamcha peeked were uncensored in the manga btw lol

Fellerz

Flying through this?? Yea right lol.... Took a little less than a year, probably 10 months and a couple days for your brother to finish DB and get to Z with the same 3 episode a week routine drop

Whoopsie

I've never really questioned how old Oolong is until recently and hes actually only 9 years old lmao making him younger than Goku who is 12 and Bulma 16.

Tacosareneat

it honestly wasn't until I started watching reactors that I even considered Dragon Ball humor was shocking lol. I'm surprised you guys are as blown away as you are since Ron is coming up on his 60th birthday soon. is this crazy for a kid show? Yeah, I'll give you that, but the humor is pretty Standard 80s and 90s, tbh.

Usher

Ya'll have to watch rascal does not dream of bunny girl senpai at some point. Don't mind the weird name it's such a good romance😂

Usher

Yes he is lmaooo

victoria t

So I mean… at least when he was kidnapping young girls they were age appropriate?? He’s not an adult man seeking child brides….

Usher

I feel you, it all seemed so funny yet normal growing up on it

SpartanManJDOGG

Don't let the voice actor fool you. Oolong is only like 8 years old here.

Usher

For all we know theyre older than him lol. But i feel like we're not even meant to ask those questions

Volt

The dub VA's are really good at selling comedy, but I do think the sub VA's are a good amount better with action scenes and emotional moments but that's clearly not a big deal at the moment. Like other ppl said Oolong is about 9 years old, he and puar went to the same school but Oolong eventually was kicked out after stealing the teachers underwear. So yeah he definitely needs some time behind child friendly bars

Just_a_guy

These might be my favorite reactions already

Berry

It never says how old he is but when he shows up for the first time he says he is younger than bulma in the sub and in a guide book it says he is 9 years when we first meet him

Usukhbayar Gurbazar

I know the humor is on some foul shtt 😂😂considering todays day and ages soft core censorships and all that. It just has neat way if staying right on the line thats so great about it 😂😂😂. Nice reaction you guys

MajinVegeta420

Shu and Mai are blasting off agaiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!

Kayso

I remember Dragon ball being on toonami too but I love the VAs and the humor so much its genuinely a feel good watch with these episodes. Now all ima think about is Peter Griffin every time Shu talks thanks to Ron lmao

SpiderPigHero

Fun fact and think it was said already but Toriyama was already rich and very popular before ever making DB from his previous manga "Dr. Slump." He was very popular for his humor and gags, which early DB and you even see hints of it in DBZ.. The first arc of DB that you are in now was actually only supposed to be a 1 shot manga but then it got more attention/popular and he continued the manga from there

T P

Yee hah baby 🗣️

Omar Bautista

Toriyama was already famous for Dr.Slump which was also a comedy so here he wanted to incorporate some fighting into his stories. It isn't till we get to the tournaments where you see the clear dynamic shifts

José Carlos Soares Junior

I'm Brazilian, and I've watched this show from the beginning a couple of times in both Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese (both are awesome). I'm not gonna lie, it has been an incredibly enjoyable experience watching it in English with you guys. I was a little concerned at first, but this dub is so good.

Emil Kolev

Hunter x Hunter (1999) has a much darker vibe, you should check out a video of a comparison with 2011 ver. it has gorgeous old school animation.

LuvStarburst

This was shown on cartoon network. Its where i watched the show when i was growing up in the 90's and I still love the show to this day.

Lue009

Cell arc patiently waiting 😭might be late 2027 for that

Toei

+1 Teddy cam

Mikkel

you are somewhat correct, dragon ball i way more lighthearted and the seriousness picks up later, but the reason they renamed the 2'nd part of the anime to Dragon Ball Z was because of the switch in tone the series gets. another fun fact is that the change from a more comic focused story to a more serios martial arts focused one, was a push from the fans, they liked the funny bits, but for most it felt like filler between the martial arts parts, hens why he did a shift in focus on the series XD

Terry Askren

Quit edging us with dragon ball and put out already lol jk

271katbest

What about in pig years

King Kai

Don’t know about Cartoon Network. But in the 90’s It was on the Big Kid Network channel 5 at 0500 am pacific standard time. I never miss it.

Kokoro Itami

We should really highlight to them the fact that they need to remember these light moments. Cause once DBZ hits the villains torture and are heartless.

SkyesRain

we told you Dub VA was good the sub lovers and Dub haters were lying to you and have hearing issues.

manish manojan

Waiting for THAT yamcha meme GIF iykyk
