Dragon Ball is the is the kindergarten format of storytelling in anime then gets more serious in DBZ. Just like in Marvel and DC. Dragon Ball Naruto in my hero academia are actually all connected in the same universe. The end of Dragon Ball franchise makes the Naruto verse. The end of the Boruto franchise makes the my hero academia verse. They’re using the Buddhist chakra system. To tell you how to achieve world, peace, and within self step-by-step through each show. Goku represents the sacral chakra hence why his clothes are orange Naruto represents the solar plexus and Deku represents the heart. Y’all should’ve watched this first before anything

Look at the first arc for a lot of shonens. They are almost pilot arcs cause mangas come and go constantly in Shonen Jump. That's why most of the time the second part of most shonens is where they tend to expand on the story, world, power system, and introduce more characters in the mix once it has a foothold with popularity.

The voice acting in this show reminds me a lot of Dragon Ball Z Abridged; maybe that was the vibe they were going for. Yamtcha really cracks me up in this.

I think there are a lot of people (prewatchers included) who don’t know this but Dragonball is a direct yet light retelling of the Chinese Classic/Epic, “Journey to the West” Long story short, a monk travels the world with the monkey king, a lecherous pig, and a kappa in search for sacred scriptures while experiencing various trials. It sort of breaks off in Dragonball Z but the foundation is already set by then.

I know this is just far in the future but I wonder how yall will watch DBZ, Z is neat for the voice actors and music but it is much slower paced than OG DB while Z Kai is paced better but music can be repetitive and not as iconic

There’s a lot of dishonesty in the modern anime community. Everyone wants to claim they were og’s or day ones..a lot of people who started dragonball in the 2010’s skipped OG and went right to dragonball z kai especially for a long time the good anime sites didn’t have og dragonball dubbed and a lot of people only watched the original dub run on toonami which was super edited

Yea just comes with the time unfortunately. In the west, DBZ aired first so for the most part people had no idea OG DB existed lol.. People always meme Goku being an idiot yet they have no idea how he grew up or what his actual values are

yes, the humor is what we grew up on. Look at all the cartoons that came out during the 90's, they all had that adult humor that you wouldn't get right away until watch it again when you're older.
