Still Silver briefly nullified Yhwach’s powers. He dismissed the future where Ichigo would kill him as Haschwalth’s dream, so he never changed it. The anime added that he mistook night for morning upon waking. He couldn’t see the arrow because Still Silver temporarily deprived him of his foresight, while Uryu’s Schrift, specifically suited to countering The Almighty, allowed him to alter Yhwach’s attempts to change events.

I think u guys are forgetting that the almighty/ywach future sight has weaknesses. 1. Is uryus ability antithesis 2. Isnt necessarily a weakness in his power but ywach was just too overconfident in the thought he could be defeated thats why the “dream” that wasnt a dream was actually a future. If he had realized it wasnt a dream he woulda dodged or changed it.

How come yhwach was not able to see Uryu’s arrow? Am I missing something? Cause he should’ve been able to stop that if he can see all futures. Idk if he is actually defeated, but if he is that feels kind of lazy and just convenient for plot. Can someone pls explain to me if there was something I just didn’t catch.

Im assuming the arrow came at the same time as mimihagi connecting with yhwach. Mimihagi as we saw in cour 3 could not be foreseen by the almighty. In the previous episode we saw a specific eye get absorbed by yhwach. That was definitely mimihagi who came in clutch preventing yhwach from seeing the arrow coming and allowing shunshui to truly damage the yhwach clone. This was infinitely better and more setup than anything the manga did. The manga left the same question Ron asked unanswered. I loved this final battle so much Yhwach was such a menace and it really felt like everybody had to push themselves to their absolute limit just to put a stop to ONE of him. He is existing simultaneously in 3 worlds and everybody had to go all put to stop their worlds clone. So many characters got to shine. They even brought back dog captain with his lieutenant who promised they would kill yhwach together. Loved that. Uryu used the same technique he used against mayuri in OG bleach which was sick. Reminder- it lets him use his reishi to control his body like a puppet. Used when their body is no longer able to move on its own. Uryu and Ichigo also did the calback attack from when they first met against the men's grande. Using each other spiritual pressure to fire a giant attack. Epiosde was perfect. I dont think any other shonen has landed their ending this well so far. I hope they handle the soul king replacement stuff too. (Not commenting on manga material just in general like Ron brought up) I pray next week for a new arc announcement or even light novels to be adapted. (Light novels have some really good stuff)

if you are wondering about the blade that cut yhwach, kubo answered this in a QnA. "Although this hasn't been touched upon in detail and since I don't plan on expanding upon this topic any further I'm going to answer your question here. The dual Zangetsu is made up of "the blade" and "the scabbard". The correct form of a Zanpakuto is one that includes a scabbard and there are only two blades without one: Sayafushi and Zangetsu. The dual blade state fixes Zangetsu into its "correct form" while its Bankai state provides the scabbard, and what was seen after it shattered is the "True Zangetsu"."

You guys have to watch burn the witch after this. Even though it doesn’t heavily connect to the main bleach story it’s still amazing and has the same energy. Only 3 episodes too so it’s not a huge investment

Tidbits & Thoughts - We learned recently that Ganju's Seppa or Stone Wave technique is one passed down through the Shiba family, and that its a technique that undoes the union of reishi particles. This is terrifying when you realize that most things in the Bleach universe is constructed of Reishi, including living beings. This leads into a theory regarding what occured with Ichigos attack, as he too is a Shiba and seemingly shattered a connection regarding Yhwachs power. [This is has more credence when you realize the scar Ichigo gave Yhwach remains despite he insane regenerative or time altering abilities] - Aside from the more obvious foreshadowing set up in this arc alone the arrow and Uryu have ties as far back as chapter 91 in the manga. (For reference the content in this episode covers stuff around chapter 680+). But yeah if you go find chapter 91 of bleach the cover is of Uryu and the title is "der freischĂŒtz. A German tale of sorts thats about a Marksmen who makes a deal with a Evil hunter and Spirit. Gifting him with arrows that cannot miss. (There is more to it but those are the details which have obvious attachment to the relationship between Uryu and Yhwach. - Oddly the anime has yet to talk about Yhwach's birth, which gives additional insight to his fear of death, and thererin addiction disdain towards the cycle of life and death, I wanted to speak on those dynamics in the episode but It may get addressed in the finale so I'll wait for now. - Some are confused as to all the pieces that connected to lend to Ywach’s defeat. Here are my thoughts.1st is the stillsilver arrow which is made of the clot left in quincies from the Auschwallen, as this is a tool that nullifies Yhwach power I presume he cannot foresee it and even if he could the story established that Uryu Antithesis is a surefire way to have an attack reach Yhwach. Yhwach is additionally weakened by what I presume to be hollowfication, as we saw it the start of the arc, Quilge absorbing an arrancar was toxic to him. This should obviously weaken him in several ways After being nullified and weakened, mimihagi power of stillness comes into play, as it holds Yhwach to that fate unable to alter or reinstate his powers, open for the final blow from Ichigo a characters who power can directly harm soul king level threats. - Yhwach states that there are 3000 worlds, an obvious nod to the buddhist themes found all throught Bleach. - Harribel willing to sacrifice herself is a nod to her aspect of death which for those that remember was Sacrifice! But fittingly enough Grimmjow refused, as his aspect of death is destruction, so I love that he realized on his own means to cause as much chaos as possible.

Nah it was just boring . 90 % of the ep was just fighting tentacles and having cgi lol not to mentioned literal npc hollow doing more then aizen in the finale . Arrow was already nonsense in terms of writing and ass pulls . Very Disney ending tbh with the corny comedic moments

Yes let’s give the two npc hollows more screentime then isshin/ryuken who have a literal connection to yhwach since they lost their wives to him . They literally just appeared to hand a deus ex machina lol instead of the cringe comedic moments I wish Kubo cooked more in the char writing instead of adding goofy scenes with Ryunosuke or Madarame or the npc hollows . Still has the same issues as the manga did when it was hated on years ago

Im also dissapointed about the aizen situation but im not gonna start bashing the author or the studio for that like i see on twitter. The ending is somewhat alright you needed everybody to put their own to pull that off. At the end of the day the whole arc as a whole was peak and deserves to be in top 5 all shonen convos.

My thoughts: Yhwach was a mere second away from merging the three worlds. And in that brief moment, the distraction Uryu was looking for, when Yhwach saw nothing more than total victory, was the perfect time to shoot the arrow.

The OST’s, the title card at the end, the colors, the direction of the episode. Too fire. i think everything in the episode is completely anime-only. I heard people said the moment Aizen was absorbed by Yhwach, Uryu came out of nowhere and shot the arrow on Yhwach in the manga. While here, it seems like Yhwach had a moment of bliss, overcome with pride was left with a opening. I think huge part of the arc is Yhwach slowly becoming more mystified of becoming a god. In the beginning, he was cool and collected. But during the last 2 cour, I feel like Yhwach has been fighting and thinking way more overconfident. Letting himself get hit and stuff. Cour 1 he didn't take any risk at all. So Yhwach technically did cover the sky 100% which means he won. But before Uryu was absorbed, he shot at Yhwach. And Yhwach cannot activate the power after he get hit, cause his power was being nullified. During the battle against Orihime, his power returned right before Orihime hit him. We saw the eyes sprout up. He changed the future before he got killed. So I think since he already got hit and his power is gone. Everything they shot at him last second worked. his ability to alter the future, but he cant the future where he guaranteed to be hit by Shunsui, Grim, and Ichigo after he got I also im pretty sure Grimmjow and Shunsui had a party in delaying it more. We saw a still image of Urahara during Grimmjow scene. While we see Shunsui using Mimihagi, the Soul King Left Arm that Ukitate had.

Notice the sequence in which Yhwach got interrupted, it started from Grimmjow with whatever Urahara planted in him, then Shunsui using Mimihagi (The Almighty can't see or predict it's actions). Those 2 events allowed Uryu to land his silver arrow. I feel like the plot holes from the manga is finally fixed with this episode.

Kubo did what he could. Love the new ending and added scenes. Yes, highly disappointed with Aizen but hey it is what it is.

They completely made up for what they did in the manga at this point 10 years ago. In that version after Aizen does his thing with Ywach, only Uryu shows up and shoots the silver arrow with ichigo slicing and that's it. No struggle. And NOBODY else was shown or was given a spotlight, We didn't even know if Nel survived rescuing everyone from the Askin battle with his giant Gift ball. Kubo was done dirty by Shonen Jump and had to rush everything

back when Ichigo was trianed by old man Zangetsu and had to find his sword, Zangetsu even told him that only this one blade would be able to cut him (Zangetsu - Yhwach). Idk if that was actual foreshadowing or just a nice touch

i don’t know if yall remember that zangetsu/manifestation yhwachs quincy powers in ichigo, told ichigo back during bankai training in soul society that only one blade could defeat him when they were in the cave with a ton of swords, and here ichigos sword breaks and out comes the original zangetsu and ichigo kills yhwach with it, truly beautiful
