I always like to think of Haki as a multiplier or increase from your base strength. Before the timeskip, I am pretty sure people like Moria knows Haki, since even underlying of Big Mom knows Haki. I feel like every warlord knows haki to some extent. But Luffy is still able to damage them despite having 0 haki, just based on base strength. We all know Moria got lazy, so his physical body/strength was weaker. So his haki could not increase him to be overwhelmingly stronger than Luffy. For Big Mom and Kaido whose body are overwhelming. Haki just increase that stat to a further degree. Cause monsters like the yonko either had the strong natural body and trained its physical to highest level and then the trained haki. Yonko would be monster, to where they become yonkos.

Episodes like this make you appreciate how astoundingly patient Oda can be when crafting some of these plot threads. We met Lola way back in Thriller Bark which was just under a decade ago by the time Whole Cake Island was being serialized in Shonen Jump magazine. Revisiting her character here and having parts of her story come full circle like this is a testament to Oda's attention to even the smallest of details. Discovering her surprising family background and why she was so obsessed with marriage. Hearing about her twin sister's suffering at the hands of their own mother. Learning that her rejection of the Elbaph prince's proposal was an indirect catalyst behind Big Mom funding Caesar's experiments on Punk Hazard. All of this is such an unprecedented level of depth given to a fairly simple side character from several years ago. No one can ever claim that One Piece lacks a robust and fleshed out cast of side characters. Look at all we're getting just for Lola and her lore.

New drip 🔥 these some of my favorite episodes of this arc. Had me on the edge of my seat. Would’ve been funny had Luffy declined Bege’s offer to team up. “Thanks for the shower and free clothes though” 🤣 And nah Ron don’t look too deep into the milk thing. It was just for comedy lol

However, concerning the allegations of possibly cheating with Michelle they refer to episode 778 when there was a strong likelihood Michelle accidentally saw the answer when they were playing with the preview view when scrolling on their video player app and when Ron asked Michelle is she saw it Michelle laughed and said it still counts because you can’t prove it. Then in episode 809 Michelle and Ron agreed on saying one name and if you say two the first name said then is your answer. On episode 817 Michelle broke that and said two names the first was incorrect but the second was correct, she still got full points for both cases though. No penalties applied.
