Sooooo When Almanfi arrived at the scene, he found a massive surge of mana and SAW Rudeus standing right beneath it, casting a high-level spell with his staff raised toward the sky. Prettiest of course was just doing his cumulonimbus spell or rather was about to start and he hadn't actually cast anything yet that's why he kind of gave up right away he was like oh Elaine is like saying it wasn't them and he doesn't actually have any proof he just saw a large amount of Mana over here and assumed it was the cause of the big thing in the sky and he was just told to investigate so he just started right now one thing and it happened to be rudiest cuz they were in a field being kind of sus like he said lol

Turning Points are so peak, also love the Greyrat drama and Rudeus getting his ass beat for being dumb and acknowledging that he has no clue what he's doing and gaming and the hub are not substitutes for life experiences and thinking like that will negatively impact your romantic relationships. Best shown when the instant he thinks of doing that with her he immediately labels and objectifies her as anime girl archetypes as if she isn't an actual person

Just clarifying, this isn't a hentai, hardly even ecchi. Heck, even if we talk about fanservice, there isn't that much fanservice here, average school rom-com has few times more. Anyway, you're not gonna see any naked bodies or anything like this. The most hentai'sh thing in this anime was Paul and Zenith in first episodes (i mean the sounds) XD

Seeing this action build up got me hyped ngl. So much changed in one episode. Really looking forward to see some potential crazy fights that might happen or for there to be big life or death moments. I did feel very creeped out about how Rudeus was about to sleep with Eris though. She’s like 10 and he’s like 40 something in a 10 year olds body so that felt very weird. Good to see they talk about waiting some years though.

I will note that as he gets older he is genuinely no longer attracted to girls younger than him. So his body does have an influence on his mind and body to an extent. Not saying that to absolve him, but it is a different situation.

rather than it being a 40 something year old in a 10 year olds body, it is more like a 10 year old with memories of his past life. Everything about him is that of the age he is currently just with more memories. Also confirmed by the author. Though the scene is still uncomfortable considering it is children.

I don’t think it’s reductive to call him a pedo. He is quite literally a grown man in his 40s who is attracted to children. I do not think the body thing is that good of an argument. Are you saying that if you had your prepubescent hormones as a grown man that you’d be attracted to minors. And I will concede that I have not watched the final season so if it does occur let me know. But I have not season a significant change to this one aspect of the character. I’m fine with characters with flaws but the show I feel does not address this horrific flaw in

Recently subscribed after seeing you two started this show not too long ago. This comment is more-so a question / “test” for you two. Do you read the comments? Mushoku Tensei is 100% an anime that can get very confusing. The only channels I’ve seen that haven’t gotten confused or forgotten important names or events are highly-analytical channels that keep entire notebooks for the show. I’m mostly asking because a lot of the time the comment section might have to fill in the details for what is missed, and some channels just don’t read the comments. (There was a channel I was just following that mixed up Perugius and Laplace for several seasons despite their comment sections constantly telling them about it lol)

The human mind is highly adapatble. You adapt to the situations and settings you're in. As a kid, adults are literally above you, you have to look up at them to talk, it's hard to relate to them so you relate to the people at your level, your age. And you keep doing that as you grow up. It goes the other way around too. Adults dismiss kids because they're beneath their eye level, they're somewhere down at your feet, you won't consider a kid your equal, you're speaking down to them. You might think they're cute, kinda like you do with a pet and you see their daily problems also small, diminutive. So people keep saying that he's an adult, but all the adults are speaking down to him and treating him as a kid and the only ones relating to him are kids around his hage. Who is he supposed to relate to? And the body does more to your mind than you think. All of our feelings are a cocktail of chemicals our body produce. And it does not produce the same cocktail when you're an adult as it does when you're a kid. So all these things factor in on top of his old self, who never actually grew up mentally, never left his parents' house, never finished high school, never got a job, never got a girl and his only experience in interacting with one was from pervy sim games. Add to that the fact that he set out in this life to achieve what he never could in his old one and getting a girl was probably top of the list. It was cringy to watch those scenes, but at the same time i see why he's acting the way he is.

Turning Point could be anything and yes I did think about it before commenting about this, since it's called Turning Point 1 rather than just Turning Point for the episode title then this should be a non-spoiler comment. Also I'm just hyping it up, the name Turning Point could be anything than just this first one. It's not like I'm telling them in future Turning Point what its going to be. Rather than minim spoiler it's like when you see the title you know what's (kind of) coming and questioning what's going to happen in the episode with that kind of title again.

Love the anime, but it does cut out a lot of content from the Light Novel (which is pretty standard for LN). Such as Zenith and Lilia backstories for example. In a Zenith POV chapter, its stated Paul officially married Lilia. While Zenith was apprehensive about the situation, she does accept and view Aisha like her own daughter too. In fact, Zenith wishes Lilia and Aisha would drop the maid routine to feel more like a family, but Lilia's guilt doesn't allow it. At 17:40, I thinks this is referring to how Sylphy attacked Paul with an intermediate spell after she witnessed Rudy being taken away while tied up. Paul avoided the spell, but notes it could have been lethal to an average person.

I don’t see much of a difference like at all. Like it’s not like he had amnesia. We see his perspective, it’s a continuous extension of his old life. He quite literally spawns with awareness of himself. He is a 40 year old. And that’s not the issue in itself. It’s the fact that he is 40 and predatory.
