This weeks tutorial we take a flip from painting power armour, bolt guns, and metal to bring you the most alien-like species of the Warhammer 40k universe, the Tyranid Lictor! Games Workshop was ever so kind as to send me a preview copy of this kit in order to paint and present you with a full miniature painting tutorial.

Being a fully organic bio-weapon, it was a great palette cleanser from the careful blending, shape creating, value controlling realm of NMM, and I could turn my brush into looser strokes to work a TON of curves that this model along with the rest of the range provides. Even if you aren't a fan of the range, the details of how we can turn a very loose and sketchy workflow that is anchored with light volumes and taking advantage of the AK Deep Shades to help smooth some of the extreme roughness and leave the results as you see.

As a bonus to my Patreons, shoot me a message on Discord if you would like me to mail a termagaunt model from the Leviathan box so you can give this style a try without busing out a higher dollar amount for a kit. I just ask that you cover shipping which I can fit a little dude in a small bubble mailer to keep the wallet light :) I have 15-20 of em, so its first come first serve!

How to paint: Tyranid Lictor by Games Workshop

Games Workshop has kindly sent me a preview copy of the new Tyranid Lictor that is in the following big release of Warhammer 40k! Seeing it being my favourite bug of the Hive Mind back in the 90s, I decided to relive some nostalgia and paint up this wonderful redesign of this classic. If you enjoyed this tutorial and would love access to over 100+ Hours of video content with detailed multipart model series, and foundational painting exercises designed to improve your painting.
