Hey everyone! With the $200 incentive goal just around the corner (which, by the way, I'm extremely thankful for! I didn't really anticipate hitting this, at least not this soon), I'm still... Pretty stumped on how to handle it. While the finer details to begin with will be decided via input posts and community feedback, between setting, characters, and tone, I've begun to wonder how I should handle things on a broader scale.

That being, formatting!

In my head, there's two ways I could go about this, and that's where I need your input! I'm personally leaning towards wanting to do B, but I figured I'd give the option in the event that there's no interest for it.

A.) Chapter Releases

A pretty simplistic way of controlling things. You guys decide what happens next, I write the scene. A new chapter every week, probably spanning roughly 2K words, but maybe not always including sex - or maybe smaller scenes written weekly that are combined after there's a satisfying break-off point and compiled into a proper, lengthier, chapter for archiving. This would make it largely patron exclusive with an occasional public upload after chapters are finished, in a sense.

This would give the readers more direct control due to a stop-and-go nature, but would ultimately progress much slower. It'd also be easier to access casually, but I am taking into account how it'd be harder for non-patrons to get into it, as chapters likely wouldn't come for 4-5 weeks at a time due to the need for multiple bite-sized scenes.

B.) Text Adventure

A much more intricate way of handling things, but the more I think on it, the more intricate the idea already is. A new update weekly or bi-weekly, offering either submitted options or "morality branches" in story progression that gives a little bit of something for everyone instead of "majority rules". It'd be extremely simplistic, a far smaller scale than I planned for The Unholy Grail to be, but would ultimately offer more content than chapters would for those interested in playing multiple routes. The overarching plot-line would be, ideally, set in stone no matter your actions, but different outcomes based on your choices and some side-tracking here and there to keep it interesting.

These uploads would be accessible to non-Patrons a patch behind the Patron upload, making it somewhat more accessible to them than the bite-sized decision-steered scenes in the chapter formatting.

This would give readers a little less direct control over the flow of the story (which might not be entirely a con, to be fair), but more precision in controlling the smaller details of the story and would appeal to more people in letting them do what they want to do, as an individual, and not what the majority wanted. It'd be a bit more difficult to access, but not unreasonably so beyond a simple download-and-play in your browser file. The quality would be a bit touch-and-go, but I'm willing to put in the work to make it comfortable.

This would also give me practice in the program for when I do reboot Unholy Grail in the eventual future (don't get your hopes up yet), and future CYOAs will also spike in quality as we go!
