Important Clarification Regarding Oh So Hero
Please read all the way!
Hey guys, Red here. A couple of days ago, I was harassed by an adamant furry who discovered one of the characters I had planned to include down the line was a girl and was not too happy about its eventual inclusion. Despite the exhausting and overall depressing exchange, it has come to my attention that there is something important that I need to clarify. There is a lot that I know now that I simply just didn't fully grasp back then. I want to elaborate on those points before things get worse and anyone ends up feeling betrayed or lied to.
To understand what I'm about to say, it's important to understand the type of person I am. I'm fond of a lot of types of furry art and am not a very picky person. When the first enemies (Daku and Amaru) were chosen, they just happened to be old designs that I had lying around and I decided to make them the first couple of enemies purely by coincidence.
When those did really well, instead of following my original plans, I catered to the patron polls and to what people were generally asking for. I didn't mind at all because I love the stuff you guys come up with and there's nothing that is in the game that I don't enjoy.
Unfortunately, with the recent events, it occurred to me that the way I've populated the world of OSH so far might have given some people the wrong impression about the nature of its characters. There were always meant to be female characters in the world of Oh So Hero. That fact has always been true from the very start. I admittedly did a really poor job in setting the groundwork for that in the world building from the get go in my pursuit to deliver on the next enemy or the next poll NPC.
I had no idea that there would be some who would simply fill in the blanks and make up their own headcanons instead of simply waiting for more information from us. I understand now how naive that was of me and I'm really sorry for giving the wrong impression. The last thing I wanted to do was to mislead anyone. I had intended to simply discuss it when the first female NPC was ready. I now realise that you guys need to know of this right away. I didn't understand how important this information was until now. Please allow me to make things even more clear now.
The game will still be receiving a lot of the same content it's always been getting. Tons of dongs everywhere. That's not gonna change. You can still expect the next couple of enemies and the upcoming Mini Boss.
My intention was always to keep the content 90% male and 10% female as far as interactable characters go. We also plan to add filters down the line so people can filter out the stuff they don't like!
The only female characters planned so far are story exposition NPCs. One being Kaylee, Joe's childhood friend. She's a Detective who gives Joe important plot information that helps move the story along.
She will be a big support on Joe's journey and has always been planned to be. I hope people will come to enjoy her character!
Any "special interactions" with this character though are entirely optional!
All I ask for those who have any doubts about this project is to put a bit of trust in us. The same kind of content we've been working on isn't going to slow down. Plenty of dongs abound and I'd hate for you guys to miss out just because of 2 chicks out of 999 dudes.
And for those who are absolutely uncomfortable with these developments just know that I'm really sorry If you feel misled. I appreciate the support you've given us so far and the awesome things you've allowed me to create.
At the end of the day If I cannot be happy with the project I'm spending most of my time on there would simply be no point in continuing. This is why I chose to not be wishy washy about this stuff anymore. Thanks for understanding guys and stay safe.
