For all of Desrind Monroe's might and gruff, there is the secret softness he has for only one woman in all of Avelium: his Mushroom Princess, Sylvie Bloomwyn.

Sylvie is that splash of honey in your tea that takes the bitter edge away and sinks you into warmth and delight. Sylvie is that soft aroma of flowers just after a brutal thunderstorm. Sylvie is a meadow blooming at the edge of winter. In other words, Sylvie is just pure wonder that can turn any mood into joy.

Sweet, nurturing, but often mischievous beyond words- Sylvie can often be seen dragging Desrind in the wrong direction, forcing him to adopt more frogs than he can count (they're all named Bernard, by the way), or simply smothering the Barbarian in all of her baked goods and succulent recipes.

If Desrind is the muscle of our story, then Sylvie is the heart.
