Mick Jenkins - The Patience - Patreon Exclusive Uncut Reaction

An outstanding recommendation, and it even dropped on my birthday. Hope you enjoy the reaction as much as I enjoyed the record. Please leave a like and a comment - not for the algo, but for me and community!

Cheers

So glad you’re gettin into more albums that are goin under a lotta ppl’s radar. There’s been a lotta good ass music this year that just hasn’t been gettin the push it deserves.

Pablo Esquvar

2004 is still there on Apple Music and YT music

Never heard of the artist before and couldn't get into this project at all. I'm surprised a lot of the 'bars' really hit Jon the way they did, seemed mid (to me)

Alex Twite

Jon you didn’t mention “I wish I could take a Weeknd off, but I’m hardly Abel” bar 😂

Kayen

What a reaction, glad you liked it!

Glad I joined the Patreon when I did, I completely forgot about Mick until he dropped a song with JID a while back which is on this album. Glad I’m getting back into a artist I forgot about from 4 years ago that I can fully understand, appreciate, and dive into his discography now. Thank y’all for suggesting this

Just a little FYI, ROYGBIV is an acronym for the most common hues of a rainbow. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, that's why the song name isn't color theory.

Something I know you would love, is Billy Woods hiding places.. a real work of art if you get a chance give it a listen it’s really something else! Love your reviews man I keep refreshing to see if you’ve posted something new👍🏽

His project from 2021 was so good too. One of my favorites from that year

Cody Vaught

It’s okay Lost In Vegas didn’t catch it either lol

Charlie Hill

So glad you did this project. Its just behind Utopia for AOTY for me. Would love to see a Mick Jenkins season. His album from 2021 Elephant In The Room was my favourite rap album that year, The Circus from 2020 was again the same and then Pieces of A Man from 2018 is probably my favourite project of his. Would love to see reactions to some of these

Mick is slept on from a commercial aspect but he is genuinely one of the most lyrically gifted rappers of this generation. Dudes pen is on another level and his delivery just always sells it so you actually hear what he’s saying. His project before this one, Elephant in the Room, is another incredible album that really went under the radar. His pen and rhyme schemes are just as advanced as Cole but I actually find his passion and delivery way more infectious than Cole. He spits with so much conviction. Hes also a great singer.
