Hey hey Patrons!

We're back and WHOLLY BOUGHT IN on this video game premiere!

The visuals and word-building.

The acting and drama.

The tone and the soundtrack.

We're loving this first episode as very well versed gamer (Dustin), intermediary (Morgan) and COMPLETE novice (Sean)!

Also, just line up Walton Goggins as a former 50's Western movie-star/now radiated undead bounty hunter and put it perpetually in our veins! It's just glorious!

And furthermore, yall don't open your first dates/weddings with "What's your sperm-count?"

Don’t forget that one of the main leads is a cousin fucker, classic vault shit.

Yesss so excited for this one

Raymond Terry

Walton is part Boyd Crowder, part Raylen Givens in this.

Travis Lee

Random nerd fact: Ron Perlman narrated all of the games. I hope we see him in the show as a cameo or something.

Da Big Appa

The actress that plays Lucy is isn't from Fear the walking dead. She is was in Yellowjackets and is the voice of Jinx in Arcane. I love this show. I already ran though the whole thing and can't wait for your guys reactions.

Just like Morgan, "Ready or Not" is immediately what I thought of when Lucy is in the bloodied bridal dress.

Travis Lee

They use a practical real suit on set for the Brotherhood

Grand Moff Slackin'

I bet Dustin’s Starlight Drive-In base camp is lit. 🔥

It is a really solid start. Made me want to play Fallout again immediately. Lots of world building an already fleshed out setting. OG Fallout was set in SoCal, I am happy they are going back to that, and also the inclusion of 50s Hollyweird. In general their treatment of the alternate history of the US that feels somewhat more idyllic just with the less racism. Can't save America from the commies in a house divided! o7 One of my favorite post-apoc films is; "A Boy and his Dog"; this show reminds me a lot of that. Highly recommend watching it if for no other reason that a very young Don Johnson and a sprinkle of Jason Robards who is all but erased from people's memory nowadays. He was old when I was a child so unsurprising. I wish a new Fallout game wasn't like 5-10y out; I'll be approaching 60 by the time we see a new game. Unless they are smart and hand it over to InExile or Obsidian since they are all owned by Microsoft now. Obsidian made arguably the best modern Fallout game in New Vegas and I would be interested to see what they could do with it in a modern engine rather than the limping monstrosity that is Bethesda's Creation Engine. Hyped for the next episode y'all put up, I am up to ep7 already but really dig watching with y'all.

One more nerd alert fact: Liam Neeson voiced the dad in Fallout 3. The LIAM NEESONS. And to have someone as perfect as Kyle MacLachlan to fill that role...it's like I'm dreaming.

Video game makers need to figure out a faster way to make games...it's kind of getting ridiculous. I UNDERSTAND why but man... I used to see my favorite games come out yearly if not sooner. And in FULL FORM. None of this patch download stuff. They were easier to make back then but I miss those days.

I knew she was familiar but I didn't realize she was Jinx and I watched that whole docuseries on the making of that show. Good call out.

The production value needs to be reduced if they want to go back to that old release cadence. It is an odd feeling to be able to count how many big budget games I'll see before I am too old to play play them or I die. Middle-aged gamer problems. That being said, if they can deliver narrative and mechanical excellence in a 5-7 year cycle, I'm down for it. It just doesn't seem to be the case, lots of dud/disappointing AAA games in recent years. I appreciate the newer independent studio heads, like Swen from Larian calling out the mega-corps for their hiring/firing practices as being toxic to game making as whole. If they didn't have train up a bunch of new people every game because they laid off the folks who had just gotten good at their job, we could probably see sub-5 year dev times again.
