My reaction was... wtf? W... t... f... WTF.

Brimmy

Hehehehe

Brimmy

Yeah for the anime onlies who hadn't read the manga this casual drop of \i'm the armored titan and he's the colossal titan\ and NO ONE acknowledges it and everyone watching does a fucking double take cuz \what the fuck???????\ its fucking great XD

Calvin Delaney

THE SECOND HAND FEELING from watching you guys react to this it felt like the first time all over again.

Reiner never actually knew about the plan to capture Annie, remember him, Connie and Sasha were chilling and then Titans popped up and they had to evacuate villages, its around the same time frame. There's the scene in Season 1 when Armin, Jean and Reiner are stranded without a horse where Armin almost spills the beans and tells him he thinks Erwin is planning to capture the Female Titan. I only caught it on rewatch but Jean interrupts him when he spots Historia riding towards them. Imagine if Reiner found out and had to decide right then what to do.

Tim Chaos

my favorite part about the twist is the title card about LIFTS right after, something about it is so comedic XD

Yeah, I wasn't reading the manga at the time and was watching the sub as it was released (I think on Saturday mornings at that time) and I had to do a doubletake. Did I read the subtitles correctly? Did my eyes deceive me? What?!? Such an amazing reveal and story swerve.

Amit

Man watching reactors watch this episode never gets old

Mitchell Blomquist

After episode 4 of this season when Bertholdt said something about Reiner being a warrior I had my suspicions, but I definitely didn't think he was Armored. Thought he was going to reveal he was a "good" titan like Eren or Ymir. Alas...

Aidan Pullen

I love the Reiner/Bertholt reveal because it's done in a way that totally defies the norm for those types of reveals. His casual "I'm the armored titan" is just so weird and off-putting. And the MUSIC in that scene. Crazy. Chills. The chilling intro as the sun peaks through the clouds, and how it rises as Reiner pulls off his sling. Then the vocals as they transform... holy shit. It's also really entertaining how with every crazy reveal y'all go way into conspiracy theory detective town and spin all these crazy ideas. I love it.

Alejandro Gil

What a glorious reaction LOL. There are SOOOO many hints in season 1 about Reiner and Bertoltd that I picked up on re watching this with you guys. In ep 2 someone asks Eren if they saw the Armored and Colossal titans and the camera cuts straight to Reiner. It's Reiner who pushes everyone to save the Eren titan before anyone knew that it was Eren. Reiner and Bert freak out when Eren transforms to stop the cannon ball bc they obviously recognize the transformation. This season Reiner was urging Connie to sneak out (and he was going to help him) bc he felt something was wrong when they had them in quarantine. I am sure I've missed more but that's the show, they'll set things up with the smallest things and then knock them all down later.

lol yeah I didn't even catch it till my 4th, he literally asks him "what do you think the Commanders up to?" or something along those lines. Like, holy shit.

Another great piece of foreshadowing is all the way back in episode 3, back when we first meet the 104th. This is the scene where the Drill Instructor is chewing out all of the new cadets. One commanding officer comments on how he occasionally skips certain cadets, to which the other replies ‘Those who have undergone the rite of passage (Extreme stress, probably trauma) need not repeat it.’ Guess which members of the 104th the camera cuts to as these lines play? Eren, Mikasa, Annie, Reiner, Bertoltd and Ymir.

Bert is on his way to biting his hand when Ymir jumps back up the tower to save them

Raymond Terry

Morgan pointing at the screen when Reiner just starts telling Eren everything important. That's the moment.

Alekos Orendain

It's like Morgan is an actual oracle where she has visions of events to come but she can't quite comprehend the visions fully so her interpretation is always just slightly off.

Asellian

great reactions guys. I look forward to the rest of the season!

Rey

Man that music, chills every fucking time I see that scene

Yusuf

Damn, if you guys loved this episode then you guys are in for a treat with the rest of the show. So much awesomeness awaiting you guys.
