Hi friends,

"La Paloma" is a song written by the Basque composer Sebastián de Iradier, and is the most famous motif of the habanera genre.

Having become an internationally recognized standard, it has been performed and recorded by several artists and became popular outside of Spain, particularly in Mexico, and soon spread around the world.

In this arrangement of mine, I worked a lot on the bass notes to reproduce the original habanera rhythm.

Good playing!

Thanks Nick, This Song is just beautiful , and really enjoyable to play. Brings back memories, .back in the 70's I guess....My Mom used to crank up the radio every time the song played, she even had a record album with the song. Such a beautiful evergreen song, especially now that I've taken the time with the help of Wikipedia of learning about its origin and the lyrics. :-).

Thank you Rene, there are beautiful songs that will never go out of style, this is one of them.

You should play triplets alternating the index and middle fingers of your right hand. This is a general rule but in slow passages you can also use only one finger. You should look at the fingerstyle lessons group, there are some lessons on this.
