this beautiful song, whose music and lyrics were written by Violeta Parra, was recorded in 1966 in Santiago, Chile. It later became one of the most famous Latin American songs in history, described as a humanist anthem, and has been the subject of numerous reinterpretations.

In 1974, the American folk singer Joan Baez included the song Gracias a la vida in the album of the same name, recorded with the aim of denouncing the horrors of the dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet in Chile.
