·  Hello friends, this lesson is for Patrons only, remember to download the PDF.

Throughout this second fingerstyle lesson for beginners, focus to use the crucial alternation between the fingers of the right (plucking) hand, this time the fingering exercise includes triplets: equal 3 notes per beat.

The alternation patterns generally used to play triplets on a single string are: i-m-i and m-i-m, this exercise includes both the patterns. In fact you have to play the first string with i-m-i pattern and then the second string with m-i-m pattern. So each time you change the string you have to change also the right hand pattern. It’s funny and complete.

Remember: that is really important for your skill.

I advice you to use a metronome to practice this exercise: at the beginning set the tempo to 50 bpm and play 3 notes per beat, then increase it.

I recommend do not try to play so fast that you become sloppy in your technique. In fact speed is of secondary importance at this stage, the most important element of guitar technique in the beginning is accuracy.

Good playing!
