Hello friends, this lesson is for Patrons only, remember to download the PDF

Here is another turnaround in E: in this third lesson you have to play both first and third string. Pay attention to the slides and hammer-ons.

A “turnaround” is a little musical idea that’s typically played on the last two bars of the blues (bars 11 and 12).

It makes the solo complete and take the listener back to the top of the song.

It can be also played like the intro or the ending of the piece.

I start this series of blues lessons with the turnarounds because playing these little musical phrases you will learn many tricks, guitar techniques and special chords, besides they are very funny to play.

Good playing!

Thanks Nick...I appreciate these snippets which are extremely practical. Whilst I am ashamed to request it if you had a couple of tutorials (examples) for basic parts for bars 1 to 10 that would also be very welcome. Mine always end up sounding like scales and frankly speaking I always learn more from following examples. Also just to add I am thoroughly enjoying your arrangements...I have been playing guitar for 25 years and have known bits of lots of songs most of which I have forgotten. Your blues finger picks in particular now form the backbone of a repertoire. Thank you.

Hi Richard, I have lots of full blues arrangements, there is a dedicated page on my website and I'll share it on Patreon.
