Will Microsoft succeed in acquiring Activision Blizzard? What happens if they can't?

Tarma

Hey Pach, I hope you and your family are doing well! It was recently announced that Mario and Rabbids Sparks of Hope underperformed, with the results of the game being called "surprising". Is this a larger red flag we should be paying more attention to? I can't recall the last time that a mario game sold poorly by normal standards, let alone Mario standards,

Hey Pach! There's a lot of talk about Ubisoft being in trouble, but this seems to be over shadowing another similar story. Is Square Enix in trouble as a company? As far as publicly available information, Hi-Fi Rush (a game that didn't have any information known about it and stealth launched) sold better than Forspoken, a game with a much larger budget. Square Enix is shutting down several of it's recent GaaS games, with many not even lasting a year. They only have two potential games that could be hits this year, and it seems like the producer of Final Fantasy 16 is dead set on running that marketing campaign into the ground.

Dear Pach, do you see something taking E3s place since Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo don't want to be part of it as of right now? Will the game awards be taking its place in the future since it seems now adays this is were everyone is coming together for one night. If not are the direct specials from the 3 doing a better job than the conference? If so how or are doing more harm than good other than saving the companies money? I know the answer already but got to throw it out there cause it has to be asked. Do we still need E3 or people like me and u are out of touch and Don't know what consumers want and need anymore and love with the old days? I for 1 miss the playstation experience

Hey Pach, thanks again for these segments ! Switch just hit a sales record, but is Nintendo leaving money on the table by not doing a Switch Pro ? Do you think Covid and the chip shortage delayed a Pro model, or was Nintendo never planning one ? With architecture being so scalable now, there'd be nothing better than a Switch that could run Breath of the Wild 1 and 2 at 60 FPS.

Pach, recently Shane said that he thinks the successor to the Switch won’t sell as many units. Do you agree with him? What do you think Nintendo needs to do to have their next console continue the high that they’re on.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom costs $70. I personally don’t care because I feel it’s a high quality game. I also live in Japan and the retail price of games aren’t set in stone. Do you think Nintendo is charging $70 to say to consumers that their game is just as good as a God of War? (Because let’s face it. Some most people believe the higher price = better). Or do you think Nintendo raised the game to $70 to push the Nintendo online purchase tickets? Trying to get people to go digital. Why buy two games for $130~$140. When you could spend $100 for two games.

Hey Pach! A couple years ago you did a bunch of episodes with a "whisky post-credits scene". Thank you for that, that's what's gotten me into whisky! So here's my question: What's your whisky of 2022 and why? Doesn't have to be a new release, just something new to you in 2022. Sláinte Volker

Hey Pach! Do you think the controversy surrounding Hogwarts Legacy helped its sale numbers? Does publicity, negative or positive, always help when the game is actually good? Could publishers use negative publicity as a tool to drive sales? -Jan

Hey Pach! I know you feel strongly that the Activision/Blizzard acquisition is going to go through. Looking at it from the contrarian perspective, how do you evaluate the various ways it could fall apart?
