We're shooting the next round of Pachter Factor episodes and we need your questions! It's been a busy last month! Not E3 is behind us, tons of information has leaked out of the hearings for Microsoft buying Activision/Blizzard, Xbox increased the prices for Game Pass and Xbox Series X, there was just a massive Nintendo Direct that may be hinting at Switch 2 coming soon, the PC versions of Ubisoft's Star Wars and Avatar games may only launch on Ubisoft's store, CD Projekt RED is blaming fans for overreacting to Cyberpunk 2077 at launch, Ubisoft is working on remaking a game that's only 10 years old (AC: Black Flag), and so much more!

As usual, try to ask some questions that will be interesting both now and a few weeks from now. If you want a refresher of all the big stories from the last month use this link:

Thanks as always to you guys for asking great questions. Without you there is no Pachter Factor!

Hey Pach! With no E3 party this year I hope you had some time to get up to some summer shenanigans! During the FTC trial, it was revealed that there are new games in development that are expected to cost $1 billion or more. This leads to a few questions. Is this at all sustainable? The games that earn $1 billion so far don't appear to have a budget anywhere close, meaning that any game that has this high of a budget will make FAR less in profit, even if it sells well. What franchises do you think could even handle a development cost of $1 billion? The number of IPs that could even warrant that kind of cost seem to be relatively low.

Hey Pach! It seems like the long-running MS/Activ matter is coming to an end one way or another. If you were a betting man, which outcome do you think is more likely?

This is a long one so please bear with me. With the list of studios that Xbox is considering purchasing having been leaked in the FTC trial, some are now worrying that Xbox could run into the same issue that has recently plagued Embracer. Acquiring too much too soon and not being able to properly manage all of their games. In addition, 3 of the biggest names in all of gaming: Bobby Kotick, Jim Ryan, and Strauss Zelnick have said that they think Game Pass will hurt the industry in the long run, similar to how Netflix and streaming services have been hemorrhaging money. My question is: given all this information that has come to light, are we in a much more pivotal moment in gaming than we realized? Could Xbox acquiring more and more studios really be hurting the industry overall in the long run?

Dear pac with ceo being fired and gamestop stock tanking again. What does that mean. Is it time to tell gamestop about the rabbits 🐇 🤔. I don't get scared anymore more if they go out of business or not. There are tons of places I can go to get physical media new or used. Man if u live in Oregon or Washington St ur like a hog on Mudd. So even if we lose gamestop media will live one with out them.

When the UK's CMA said no to the Microsoft / Activision, Blizzard, King deal - Microsoft was very mad and has hinted that they were considering leaving that market if it meant the deal went through. If this were to be followed through, would that mean ALL Microsoft related business activity in the UK would cease? Azure, Windows, Microsoft Office, Bing, Sharepoint, Skype, Teams, 365 - surely all of these things aren't worth it? Is it just a bluff and bluster?
