"some people are annoying with bad tastes thankfully you can ignore them" PREACH! being annoying is not a crime.

anna

"it's annoying to see the shit you hate pop off" you are out here spewing facts and we clap and cheer! Exactly! Why people need to come up with justifications connect threads and make a whole "it's always sunny" red line graphics to come at you for a thing you like? especially if it's something as superficial as a ship, damn, i need people to be chill about enemies - to - lovers.

lol if youre serious princess you should get into finnlo instead of looking at poe/kylo. finnlos way more analogous imo

The thing with romantasy and smut and negative criticism is that you almost can't criticize any of them because you're either seen as either a someone who hates everything made for women, or one of the aforementioned purity culture people, but like. No baby, I just want a good book, I promise you the romance and smut bits are not the issue 😭 "sometimes the world building is just not built" really hits the nail on the head

Karine

and another thing like, as a aroace person, I still, enjoy smut in both my books and my fics, and it's baffles me that people who aren't are so against it, it breaks my brain. We're so used to female characters being overly sexualized and exploited for the male gaze that some people just cant see any of the nuances when it comes to sex in media

this is so true. I rarely do any public posts about romantasy books, sci-fi/romance books because i really am tired of that inability to just sit and talk about the escapism as also a piece of media and a thing that we paid for. it's a product and products need actual reviews.

Anna

*blinking in Black confusion* lol priceless

no notes. as someone who has been in fandom and reading stuff on ff.net, LiveJournal, etc., way before I was "supposed to" the kids will find a way and they will be alright. no fanfic or romance book has made me do bad things in the world. let people enjoy things. media literacy is lacking though and i don't know how to fix it for the adults out there. we can do things in schools, but these adults with zero media literacy.... ??? I'm open to anything to help.
