Community Notice: Tiers going LIVE next month (Patreon)

Hey folks, wanted to announce that next month I will be starting the switch to tiers. You can find more details about the proposed change in my previous post. I know it's not everyone's first choice and the current pay-what-you-want system is preferred but I hope you all understand my need to protect my work and discourage those bad eggs who have spoiled it for everyone else.

Tiers will go live at the start of next month (Wednesday 1st May 2024), there will most likely be some payment crossover so if you wish to join a tier but Patreon has already charged you for May while subbed to the old pay-what-you-want system, I will manually refund that payment once your new tier sub is active, so don't worry I'll make sure you aren't double dipping. The only way to guarantee you won't get charged twice is to cancel your current sub before the last day of this month and then join one of the new tiers when they go live next month. Hope that all makes sense, any questions just drop me a message or comment below. If you are a madlad who wants to pledge more than the tier amount, once you join a tier there should be an option to edit your pledge and increase it there. 

So, what are the tiers called and what are the rewards? I’ll keep the tier names, tier artwork and descriptions secret for when they go live but here are the main details (basically what I first proposed in my initial tier post that everyone who discussed it seems happy with).

I’m in the UK so I use Pounds (£), so that’s what I used to set the tier prices, they should automatically be converted by Parteon into the local currency you have set, I have no control on the conversion rates or any local fees or taxes Patreon collects.

Tier 1 (£1): A low-entry option for those who wish to support but aren't interested in the exclusive monthly poster benefits. By joining this tier, you'll still receive priority treatment for poster requests and the ability to participate in future polls and discussions, plus get access to any timed exclusive early access poster drops.

Tier 2 (£2): A cheaper tier that gives patrons rolling access to the exclusive content. This means that each month's content is accessible only during that month. For example, if you subscribe in May, you gain access to May's content, but you won't have access to the previous month's content. Then when June rolls around, your access changes from May's content to June's content. That way, if you stay subscribed at this tier, you won't miss out on any future content. Please note that this will require Patrons subscribed to this tier to keep a personal backup of content, as once the month ends the previous month's content will become locked and the only way to access would be with the Third Tier.

Monthly rolling access to exclusive content

Tier 3 (£5): This tier offers all the benefits of previous tiers and allows people who are looking to access the extensive back catalogue of exclusive posters (over 200 and counting) to access all previous posts. This is beneficial for new Patrons who wish to catch up on any posters they may have missed previously or for those who want the convenience of accessing all posts and exclusive posters and not have to worry about keeping their own backup. But note that if Partons leave this tier and move to tier 2, access would also change to rolling month to month as stated above and previous posts would become locked.

So a heads up, If you plan to join Tier 2 then please make sure you have a backup of previous content before the end of the month as they will become locked on Tuesday 30th April 2024 in preparation for the new tiers going live on Wednesday 1st May 2024.
