It has been brought to my attention that all my Patreon exclusive posters have been shared on themoviedb, since this includes posters that I only recently shared then I can deduce that the person responsible is a current Patron at this time and should see this. I hope you can understand the severity of this as it undermines the whole point of Patreon. Any rewards you gain access to are for personal use, not for redistribution. I have contacted themoviedb in hopes they will remove them, If this was you and it was a genuine error on your part then I would ask you to also reach out to themoviedb to request the posters are removed which should speed up the process.I have always held onto the idea of having a pay-what-you-want system, so no one, regardless of what you can afford to pledge, is left out. There has always been the odd Patron who joins for a month at the minimum amount, downloads the content and then leaves, but this is not the norm and is one of the only downsides of Patreon, my hope is that people enjoy the content, enjoy the community and interaction and stay. But this has unfortunately forced me to rethink how I will handle content in the future, there's no point in me spending so much time creating exclusive rewards for them to be shared freely elsewhere. As you can imagine this has been a bit of a blow, I am surprised and disappointed that someone in this community would do this but I want to move forward and I am open to ideas from everyone on ways to avoid this in the future.

Update: With the help of Themoviedb I've managed to get them all removed and the uploaders account is now gone, either banned or they deleted it. I'm still unsure how best to move forward to avoid this in the future, so again I'm open to your thoughts and suggestions. Chris (DIIIVOY)

SMH. I wish people could just be Honest and not ruin something for everyone else.

That’s fucked up. I noticed that your Marvels poster was already in my posters selection pulled down from my agent. I didn’t think anything of it but I’m sorry this happened to you.

Copyright your content so people have to accept terms before access then you have grounds to sue for copyright infringement.

DIIIVOY

From what I've read in the past I don't think that's possible since any artwork I use is owned by the movie studios who hold the copyright. Trying to obtain copyright under derivative work rules would be almost impossible since the medium hasn't changed from the original source.

Ashley Willard

You can copyright the design as it's your artwork. you just can't copyright the indervidual asset's of the artwork.

Ashley Willard

Basically you can copyright the layout of the image as a whole but not (for example) the characters used

DIIIVOY

I suppose so if the layout is distinct enough but, if I take away the character assets the layout for my neon poster is essentially just a stylistic design of a Logo, which is also owned by the studios. I don't think that would be enough.

I do have a plan which I hope should work, I'll share it at some point this week.

Hope so as you posters are iconic and unique. We all can notice your work :)
