Hello!

Here's the entire first part of Chapter 3! As always, it'd help me immensely if you report any errors or typos you encounter.

Here's the link!

I hope you enjoy it! 🌹

ana if you only knew how my whole body buzzes with excitment every time the alpha gets updated!! ✨

ameartthyst

Yayyy can’t wait ✨✨

Jo

Your timing couldn't be more perfect! I had a difficult meeting today at work that went well, so I'll read the update later when I'm home as a celebratory treat ☺️ I'm excited!!💙

Red Phoenix97

An amazing chapter. I’m only more eager to read them all when you have them ready.

A sandwich

YEAH, it's Lance Season, baybeeeee 🙌🙌🙌

mila (yugocar)

running back here to say that the lance content was everything i could hope for!!! im breaking the mans door down and asking him questions!! his every interaction with romanus is just so interesting!!

Nessy Lovegood

I think I fucked up somewhere. The first time I played through Eda's death scene things went smoother with Hadrian. He wasn't quite as numb or in a bad mood.... I flirted with Lance was that it? I still don't know who he kissed 😭

No I remember him seeming a little less somber at the end of the discussion.I thought? But when he came out with Salina he was pretty upset so maybe I'm not remembering correctly?

The part when he comes out with Salina is new, you didn't play it before xD And he's upset ofc. When you leave him after talking about Eda you can see that he's more somber than usual

chocolatezz

I just want to scoop Lance up and wrap him in blankets and do unspeakable things to him.

Rue

Hoo boy, that was a meaty Lance encounter. I'm romancing him with a Scholar Origin Romanus so I can't wait for the option to tell him about Adso. What really caught me off guard was the new Jurtana interaction at the end! That relationship is one I'm very excited to see deepen. I feel like I'm a warlock in D&D communing directly with my patron XD

HeraldOfEras

Have the requirements for the scene where we barter with Mist changed at all? I loaded a save up to entering the tailor shop, met up with Mist and Lance (whom my Romanus is rude/antagonistic towards) and don't get the option to linger and trade as usual before Chapter 3 and Salina.

I didn't touch that scene. You can try clearing your cookies? I can't imagine why else it would skip the negotiation 🤔

There's a scene if you sell the coin to Mist too. I fixed the bug that caused it not to show but for some reason, dashingdon isn't overwriting my file. I don't want to put up a new link 😫 people are probably still playing.

Oooh that sounds really cool. Was her speaking to you when you think about selling the coin new, or did I miss that in earlier updates? I remember feeling reluctant about letting the coin go, but not any direct messages from her.

Josephine G

I love this new update! Lance's interactions warmed my cold, dead heart!! And then that heart broke when my charismatic Hardian!mancer was flirting for information, not taking it seriously at all and laughing at the schmucks that fell for it, and Hadrian sadly mumbled that he would have fell for it, too. My sweet boy 😭

Ayana McR.

My heart fluttered so much. I love Hadrian sm, during that scene. I love him so much, so so so soooo much 🥹

Lady Rutherford

Is Jurtana supposed to talk to you after you trade the coin if you never carried the coin or believed in the old gods?

HeraldOfEras

Dumb on my part! Something in the local save messed with that variable. A fresh playthrough fixed it.

She does speak to you if I remember correctly, I think you hear like a NO! or something like that. Romanus def feels sadness that isn't theirs when they decide to part with the coin

Yes. Since the moment you take the coin from the altar, Juturna tethers a link with you, whether you want it or not. Think of it like a starving dog, finally given a bit of food. When you let it go, Juturna spends her last strength in the mortal world to curse you, as petty as gods love to be 😆 This was to show that she had her claws on you, even if you kept the coin in your satchel

Good to know! Dashingdon saving system is amazing but it's not without its flaws. My next suggestion would have been to start a new save, so I'm glad you solved it^^

Pikablooo

Hi!!! I loved this!! Just wanted to let you know about a few typos and an error - "tick napkin" (when Hadrian and Lance join MC and Alessa) - When Alessa asks about the MC's exchange from Mist, the main options refer to gold. This may be intentional(and if so I apologize!) but I had my character receive information rather than gold! - Typo when Juturna speaks to the MC for the first time (my MC didn't get the interaction in chapter 1), "A voice you never hear before" - I think you meant heard? :) Super excited to read the next update!!

Whuynh

I was reading through Chapter 3 again and checking out the other dialogue options. I had burst out laughing when a non religious Romanus tried to comfort Hadrien only for him to second guess his reasoning on why he survived. 🤣🤣

emmyyy

This is quite belated, but I was finally able to read the update and just needed somewhere to bring all of my enthusiasm for Lance - I believe I have never loved a character more. Getting such a lengthy conversation with him made my whole night hehe all of your characters are so beautifully written and Alessa and Hadrian often feel like my friends, they’re so alive, and eeee I’m just so pumped

Dawn1000

I got my hands on the demo and immediately started committing war crimes so that Vallen would like my Romanus lmao. I'm kinda scared of how many friendships/bridges I'm gonna have to burn in order to woo her, but if that's what it takes 🤡. Edit: As a side note, I really like how corruption is gained because ofc it makes sense that you won't have to just be a murder machine to rack up points. There was something so much more insidious about giving Joan a matching scar rather than simply killing her. Really goes to show how scary corrupted Romanus can be.

War crimes 😆 But yeses, I'm glad to see more people willing to go the Vallen path. This next update will determine if you'll stay on it or not, but at least, someone will see the content xD And thank you! Corruption will be raised in more ways than killing in this book, although, of course, unnecessary bloodshed will always raise it as well
