v.0.18 Preview (VI) - Kate and good news. (Patreon)

What did the MC tell Kate to get that reaction? You'll have to find out in v.0.18

The update is written and ~77% rendered, so I guess it will take some days still to complete it. My goal is the first week of June. I'm translating the first 14 scenes (out of 17) to send them to the proofreaders so they can advance some work.

Oh, and it will be a bit longer than what I said in the last Progress Report. The final Spanish script is 19,508 words long, and that means 20-21,000 words in English instead of the 18-19,000 announced.

at 1 point u could shoose to have kate getting slimmer, but she does not seem to be changeing body type yet, will it happen . her face and heir is sooo beutifull but I dont like her body

It's been less than a week since that choice showed up so almost no time for visible results. In the next update, it will be one of the main points in her scene. She will be slim when the MC returns from Aruba.

Of that I have no doubt!! You, I would say yinz but I'm pretty sure you work alone, always nail it with every character!! But for someone who has never been to Pittsburgh, you knocked it out of the park with the attitude and the way she carries herself!!

It's a players choice from a prior update when Kate sees how Norah transformed.

There was a choice, in v.0.11, to make her slimmer in Act III (when the MC returns from Aruba). She's perfect for me, but not for everyone, so giving the players who don't like her the chance to change her looks (because of her diabetes, so justified inside the story) felt correct.

Thanks! Yes, I mostly work alone, with help in the testing and proofreading. I'm glad I got lucky and my research got Kate in a good place in a Yinzer's eyes. My fear while designing her was to fall into the trap of making her a cliché.

You definitely avoided the trap, although cliché's become cliché's because of how accurate they CAN be!! She's just the right amount of cliché and just different enough that she would fit right in if she were real!! She seems like she would be just as comfortable in an elegant evening gown for a showing of La Boheme at the Benedum as she would be in shorts and a tank top at a Pirates game in the middle of summer!! That's a true Pittsburgher right there!! Just as comfortable and confident all dressed up as we are when we're dressed down and getting dirty!!

She was getting free of diabetes with both options, but Kate has received a lot of hate because of her non-AVN-standard body. I understand it and that's one of the reasons I gave that choice. But in my playthrough, she will be in her original shape (although I will test both shapes, obviously)

How we treat characters from games and movies is often a reflection of our sub conscious!! I apologize if my desire to keep a unique character unique offends you!! Comments that focus on her waistline to clearly "normalize" her appearance can be offensive as well though!! The option is there, change it if you want!! But you don't need to be crass and tasteless in your comments about it!! Not in a game like this one!!
