v.0.31 Progress report (VI) (Patreon)
Content
Great progress this week.
I sent the first half of the update (scenes #1-#7) to the proofreaders on Thursday. I translated Scenes #1-#8 and #14-#18, with some surprises about the word count (Ren’py is evil when it comes to counting words).
Let’s go with the numbers:
· Scene 1: 7,196 words, 398 stills, and 22 animations with 4,756 frames. New this week: +201 words, +247 stills, finished, tested, and translated.
· Scene 2: New this week: -49 words over the estimated pre-translation count. Translated.
· Scene 3: New this week: -165 words during translation. Translated.
· Scene 4: New this week: -46 words during translation. Translated.
· Scenes 5-6: New this week: -170 words during translation. Translated.
· Scene 7: New this week: New scene, 1,004 words. Finished, tested, and translated.
· Scene 8: New this week: New scene, 408 words and 44 stills. Finished and tested.
· Scene 9: New this week: New scene. ~300 words (just started writing it).
· Scene 14: New this week: New scene. 734 words and 52 stills. Finished, tested, and translated.
· Scene 15: New this week: +306 words while posing and translating. +194 stills. Finished, tested, and translated.
· Scene 16: New this week: -94 words during translation. Translated.
· Scene 17: New this week: +2 words during translation (I almost laughed). Translated.
As you can see, it has been a very busy week. +2,433 words, +537 stills, and translated 24,952 words.
What’s the plan for next week? There’s only a big scene remaining (#10) and it has been half-written for some weeks. Then there are some small scenes (#9, #11, #12, #13, #18, and #20) and one medium scene (#19). The plan is to write as much as possible of them alternating with rendering them. That would mean the update would be almost completed (besides translating those scenes) and doing the last touches at the end of the week or the start of the next one. The plan is to release the update (depending on the proofreaders) on the week of July 14th. That would also mean that the update took “only” three months (two months of real work after my wife exited the hospital). Being unemployed has its perks, right?
Well, back to work. Those scenes won’t write themselves.
